Resolved import updated virtuemart products

Hi, I have lots of virtuemart products which need to be updated (manufacturers, description, ....)
For import I use product_sku and updated/modified fields.
I noticed after update the product Id's are newly created, is this correct?
And is this the right way to update/modify existing products?

No, the IDs should not change. If the product is updated then the existing row in database should be updated/modify which also means IDs stays the same. Please send the import debug log to check. To get the debug log check How to collect debug information? document.

Hello Pas,
Thank you for sending the debug log. As per the debug log you have imported two products and it shows that existing rows has been updated for both the products. No new product IDs are created. Can you tell me where you see the new product IDs? Please share a screenshot of it.

Hmmm I see my mistake...
I thought the ID's in virtuemart were updated with new id in products view.
But I did not check the product sku, so sorry guess it's all fine.
So this is the best way to import updated/modified products?

Yes, using product_sku field you can update/modify existing products. If the product_sku value does not exists, a new product is created on import.
