Hi,

Joomla! 3.8.2
VirtueMart 3.2.4
CSVI pro 7.3.0
CSVI Import Custom Fields For All 7.4.1
Custom Fields for All 3.1.2

I installed all plugins and followed the instructions I found but it's not going as expected.

In the VM custom fields, I created a new custom field -> plugins -> customfieldsforall and I added all available colors from all products and I added the label for 2 languages.

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO ACHIEVE:
I would like to create csv files with products_sku, custom_title, custom_valie and custom_param and add available colors per product in this way.

WHAT HAPPENS:
At the import, the colors I added in the csv are added to the product but also ALL colors which I added into the custom fields in the beginning are showing on the product -> so lots of colors double
+ in the custom fieds, the colors I added to the product, are also added in the custom fields plugin, so there are the colors also double.

What is the right way to import colors to the website?

thanks in advance

Geert

Hello Geert,
Joomla! 3.8.2
VirtueMart 3.2.4
CSVI pro 7.3.0
CSVI Import Custom Fields For All 7.4.1
Custom Fields for All 3.1.2

First thing i noticed here is the version of CSVI package and CSVI custom fields for all plugin are different. You need to update your CSVI package to 7.4.1 version.

In the VM custom fields, I created a new custom field -> plugins -> customfieldsforall and I added all available colors from all products and I added the label for 2 languages.

You can follow the examples explained in Custom fields for all for VirtueMart document.

+ in the custom fieds, the colors I added to the product, are also added in the custom fields plugin, so there are the colors also double.

Can you post sample of your import file, import debug log and screenshots of how you have your Custom fields for all field set in VirtueMart custom fields page?
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi,

Now it's a real mess. Sorry, not saying it's your fault, this is what I've done :
I reinstalled CSVI pro (he gave an error by normal updating)

That didn't made a change so I tried to reinstall the custom fields for all plugin also but that didn't helped either.

In VM i created the custom field again and now I'm not able anymore to add a hex color code :-(, only color name.

When I try to import a product and instead of mentioning the color code in the csv (what I tried bfore) I placed the color name because I had to input this in the custom fields.
The import seems to work in the backend, the product has the custom fields I added and they were not added twice in the VM custom fields part but they are not showing in the front end.

All help is welcome, I'm getting little bit crazy.

thanks

I did not say it will help but having two extensions with different versions of same package can give a lot of conflicts.

This is not caused by CSVI update as it does not handle any color codes but just imports what is in the file to database.

In your custom fields settings on VirtueMart custom fields page you have set Cart Attribute to Yes but Cart Input to No, can you change Cart Input to Yes and check your frontend?
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi

front-end looks better with cart input to Yes, thank you

but it's not OK yet. Because I can't input hex colors, I don't get these colors in the front end, neither I get to see the lable of the color.

Could it be compatibility issue with newest version of CSVI and custom fields for all plugin?

If we get this functional, how do I import the colors per product? should it work the way I tried before?

thanks

Hello,
Can you send me your import file? I will run the import here and check what is going on with hex color codes.
Kind regards,

Hello,
In your import file for custom_title and custom_value is there an extra ~ at the end or at the starting? If its there you need to remove it and import. Post your import file so i can check for it.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,
You have an extra # in front of your custom_value 035b31. Remove it and run the import to avoid empty value.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi,

I retried this and the following happens:
- the colors are all getting twice in the product custom fields.

Twice in VM control panel -> products -> custom fields and twice in products -> choose product that has been updated -> custom fields
On both places, the colours are double!

In attachment you can find my csv file and log file

thanks already com_csvi.log.115.zip test-import-kleuren.csv

Hello,
The problem is MySql is not case sensitive by default, since the lower case version of these codes are already in database and when CSVI compares with the ones imported against the values in database it collects these lower case code ids also and inserts them which is the cause for duplicates. Can you load the attached patch file and check if there are no duplicates?

Hi,

When I import and I put all colors in lowercase, it seems to work!

I'm testing further but it looks good!
