Resolved Import parent/child products with a lot of customfields for all and stockhandle

Hi Roland

we have a new a little bit complicated eshop with parent / child products and with

customfields for all and stockhandle customfields and multiple prices by pieces.

A. Products with colors
1 parent / 5 child products

B. Products with material and dimensions
1 parent / 30 child products

So, first I created template for

import categories
import products without customfieds and info about parent / child
import images fro products
import multiple prices for products
created parent manually
created customfields manually
created parent / child manually in administration

Now I need creating template for

customfileds for all
stockhandle customfields
parent / child

I don't understand what have I creating first and how:
import customfields or parent /child,
because customfields from parent must be copy to child, isn't it?

Can You helpd me pls?

Hello Rudolf,

In case you are unsure what you should put in the file, it is a good idea to manually create 1 product with the settings you want and export that product so you have a good template to fill further. We also have the Stockable Variants import tutorial and the Custom Fields for All for VirtueMart.

The parents and children can be in 1 file as long as the parent is first and then the children in your file. The file may become a little complicated because of the many settings but I think if you start with something simple, like only 1 option and then extend it or as I said earlier, create it manually you will get a better idea on how it works. This should help you get better insight into the final file.

If you want us to check a sample file, feel free to post it. Do provide a clear description of what the file is supposed to achieve, that will help us to check it.
