Hi,

PHP version 5.5.32
Joomla! version 3.4.8
CSVI Pro version 6.5.2
Virtuemart version 3.0.12

I have a Product .csv file which completes successfully on import to Virtuemart.
Also I have a separate Custom Fields .csv file which also seems to import successfully.

Unfortunately, when I export the product file the values for the custom fields seem to be mixed up,
i.e.. on my import sheet the custom fields are
NewUsed with values of New Part, Used Part
and
Manufacturer Name with values of models for each.

when I export the details I receive the following output
NewUsed with values of models for each
and
Manufacturer Name with values of New Part, Used Part.

I am using the customfieldsforall plugin to allow customers to select their part via checkboxes, but the checkboxes for New/Used Part and Model Numbers are not showing up, possibly due to the import files?

I have also set up a product solely in Virtuemart, SKU - a_test_product, using customfieldsforall, which can be seen in the export file line 2, this product seems to be the only one which has the Custom Fields corresponding to the Custom Field Values correctly.

If you can have a look at my files, attached below, and let me know if there is a solution, that would be great.

I have tried adding the files to this request but only one seems to be uploading, How can I get these files to yourselves to inspect?

Many thanks in advance.

I forgot to zip the debug logs, but even after I do, they will not upload?

Hello Simon,
I checked the site for import but couldnt figure out the cause for the custom field values yet. Can you please send me the database access details too? i would like to see how the values are stored in there.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello Simon,
I got the issue, the customfieldsforall table was having values related to old custom ids. I cleared this table and ran the import using the CSV file attached in the above post. Now the values are seen good in product custom fields tab. Please have a look into it.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi Tharuna,

Thanks for the fix.
I will have a look at the site and check it works with more new products as the .csv file attached was just a sample of the full range.
Did you clear the table from Maintenance > Virtuemart > Empty Database section in CSVI, as I had tried this before to no avail?

Regards

Simon

I did not clear the virtuemart tables. I found one of the table used by customfieldsforall plugin was having wrong values, cleared only that using phpmyadmin and did the import.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi Roland/Tharuna

I am still fighting with these imports which is mixing up the Custom Values.

I had it correct then I did an update of both CSVI and Break Design Custom Filters etc. This knocked out my CSS changes and had to redo them. After that I noticed the Custom Values mixed up again but not sure if the CSS had anything to do with it, but I don't think so.

I can import my test products and then the Custom Values for these, this imports all in the correct order and displays in the correct order. Then I import all new products and then the Custom Values for these. After this all Custom Values are mixed up.

They are mixed up in the Custom Fields list, but appear to be correct in the actual product, but they still do not display correctly on the webpage.

I am ready to cut my wrists, what can I do?

Thanks
Colin

Hello Colin,
As much as i know there is no change with customfieldsforall plugin with new CSVI version. I would need your debug logs to check, please post the debug log as an email to tharuna@csvimproved.com. Can you also give an example product with screenshot where you see the custom fields mixed up?
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello Colin,
I have fixed the ordering issue with customfieldsforall plugin. Can you try to https://csvimproved.com/support/questions-and-answers/905-how-to-load-a-patch-file ">load the attached patch file and try import again? You don't need to have custom_ordering field in your import file as i told in my email. With the patch file, CSVI will automatically read the last ordering value and inserts the next ordering.

Hi Tharuna

I think I have all working now but I now need to import the images. Virtuemart has a default location for images
e.g.
images/stories/virtuemart/product/mainimage.jpg for main image
and
images/stories/virtuemart/product/resized/mainimage.jpg for thumb

Is it possible that I can make my own folders for the images and include this with the import?
e.g.
images/stories/virtuemart/product/Ford/mainimage.jpg
and
images/stories/virtuemart/product/resized/Ford/mainimage.jpg

If this is possible do I need to upload the images to both folders (product/Ford folder and also product/resized/Ford folder) or does virtuemart generate the thumb itself for the resized folder?

Here is what I have in my import csv file
product_sku file_url file_url_thumb file_title file_description file_meta media_published
nv2019 product/Ford/zx55.jpg|product/Massey-Ferguson/zx56.jpg product/resized/Ford/zx55.jpg|product/resized/Massey-Ferguson/zx56.jpg zx55.jpg|zx56.jpg File Description File Meta 1

Will this work?

See attached for import template settings.

Yes, Thats correct.

Is it possible that I can make my own folders for the images and include this with the import?

and
images/stories/virtuemart/product/resized/Ford/mainimage.jpg

Yes, you can make your own folders for images and use it in import file. By default CSVI takes the VirtueMart image path images/stories/virtuemart/product/ when nothing is set in your template settings on Images tab and under Location product files. You can just use the rest of the path for the image in your import file like Ford/mainimage.jpg or the other option would be to use the entire path images/stories/virtuemart/product/Ford/mainimage.jpg for file_url and images/stories/virtuemart/product/resized/Ford/mainimage.jpg for file_url_thumbs in your import file and CSVI will process this automatically. Both should work.

If this is possible do I need to upload the images to both folders (product/Ford folder and also product/resized/Ford folder) or does virtuemart generate the thumb itself for the resized folder?

As per your template settings, you have set the Create thumbnail to Yes so you can upload images to your main folder product/Ford folder and CSVI will generate the thumb images to resized folder.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello Colin,

What have you changed? Things don't stop working by themselves. With the info you provided there is nothing for us to look at.
Kind regards,
