I have a number of old orders I need to change the status on so I created an import template. My template operation=Order and here are the fields I used. I do have keep order ID set to yes:

The import works fine but things get messed up in Virtuemart. After the import, the order number has been changed and the order date is set to the date I did the import. The order status is changed though. Here is what my CSV file looks like and what my VM orders screen looks like after the import.

If I open the order, I see the original order history as I should. Here is the order history:

What am I doing wrong here?

Hello,

The issue is with using the "Keep order ID". This is only needed for when you are creating new orders, for updating existing orders this can be set to No. So if you set this to No, your order should be updated as expected.
Kind regards,

Thank you for the reply, Roland! Just a suggestion for you...you may want to re-word the help portion for that item to make it more clear. When I click on the help button in CSVI, I get "If the field virtuemart_order_id is used during import, CSVI will keep this ID when creating new orders rather than letting the database auto-generate a new order ID. Any existing order IDs will be updated."

I read that to say that if I used Keep order ID, the order would be updated as I wanted instead of a new order or order ID being created. Now that you explain it, I can see who I read it wrong. NOT a complaint at all, mind you, just a suggestion to possibly help cut down on your support load! Believe it or not, I used the help tab and even searched and read here before asking in the forum. Thank you again for the reply and great support!

Hello,

I became aware when checking this issue that the wording is not optimal, so I will be changing that to explain it better.

All is working fine for you now?
Kind regards,

RolandD

I have not re tested it yet. I ended up manually changing about 30 of them last night and don't have any more to do at the moment! I will have need for it again in the future and will let you know if I have any issues!

Is this description clear to you?

Set to Yes
if the field virtuemart_order_id is used during import, CSVI will treat existing orders as new orders. In other words, a number of fields will be set to default values. Non-existing orders will be assigned this ID instead of auto-generating a new order ID.
Set to No
if the field virtuemart_order_id is used during import any existing order ID will be updated with the information from the imported file.
Kind regards,

RolandD
