Resolved Image names ending with full stop (dot) before extension .jpg missing full size

Today I became aware that in Virtuemart the product images with a dot before the extension .jpg (so "image name"..jpg) are not shown in the full image albeit in the thumb image. Rather the image with the text "Product Image Unavailable" is seen. This problem never showed up in the past.
I use CSVI 7.8.0, Virtuemart 3.4.0 and Joomla 3.8.12.

Hello,
From what i can see is that it is the problem with VirtueMart. CSVI has imported the images to your database as in your import file. You may need to talk to VirtueMart developers about the image issue.

Hello,
Looking at your debug log, the image with "image name"..jpg have been processed by CSVI (Check the query below) but do you have images with this name structure stored in images/stories/virtuemart/product/ VirtueMart image path?

As you see, I have adapted the image "Image Unavailable" with the Dutch text "Click Here" as this is the work-around. After clicking you see the original image.
