I am totally new to CSVI so maybe my questions are hilarious for some of you.

What I try to achieve first is the following: I want an XML output file with three blocks of XML-code.
The first and third block are static, I asume that I can code this in header and footer of the XML layout.
And the second block is variable for each record, I guess this comes in the body of the XML layout.
But how do I code this? Which articles to read?

The first I came accross is that I don't know how to add fields to the template.
When I try to add a field, the first option is a pulldown menu for fieldname, with the following options:
id;id_holder;table_name;text_prefix;title_holder;type_alias; type_title
Where do I find documentation that explains these options?
In fact, where do I find all the documentation that I need to create fields?

Thanks in advance!
I probably get wiser when I learn step by step to build my first template.

Hello,
In that case you need to set component as Joomla Users and Operation as User in Details tab in export template. See attached screenshot. Do you have it set it so?

Hello,
What do you mean by this, the component?

In Templates page click on your Export leden DHB xml template on Details tab what do you have under Operations section? See attached screenshot.

As you can see below, there are available fields for the template.

Those available fields is a common list for all the components RO CSVI supports. What are you trying to export? Like Joomla articles or Joomla categories or VirtueMart Products or VirtueMart categories or HikaShop products or HikaShop categories...?

Hello,

You did not tell us which export operation you are trying :)

What I try to achieve first is the following: I want an XML output file with three blocks of XML-code.
The first and third block are static, I asume that I can code this in header and footer of the XML layout.
And the second block is variable for each record, I guess this comes in the body of the XML layout.

Thats correct.

But how do I code this? Which articles to read?

Please check Process XML files and under Custom XML section. The document explains setting up export of VirtueMart Products in XML format.

Please check Add template fields document to know on adding template fields. Please share screenshots on the export template you are using and we can help you in setting it up.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
