Hi,

I didn't find any tutorials about importing/exporting Hikashop items by CSVI Pro, it's not even listed as supported extension, however I can see here an addon so I'm posting few questions.

First of all - is Hikashop fully supported by CSVI Pro 6?

In Hikashop Business edition there's a possibility to create many different product custom fields like checkboxes, multiple select, single select etc.
Are all of them supported in CSVI Pro 6?

Can you provide some example how to import product with checkbox custom field (for other custom field types too) - how does an inside-cell value delimiter look like? I mean in my csv file:

some_checkbox_cf;some_multiple_select_cf
1|0;val1|val2|val3

or something similar?

Can I update products using product_id field, like in Virtueamart 3 import: virtuemart_product_id?

Best regards,
Chris

Hey Chris,

It seems the wife called when I was doing the brand implementation because I stopped half way :pinch:

The attached patch file adds the brand field to both import and export for products. Just need to run the update available fields after loading the patch file.

At this moment, it only works for existing brands.

I'm not sure how to handle it.
CSVI works on the basis of the name of the brand. If you have duplicate brand names, it will just take one. Perhaps this should be used in the category_path style but I need to do some more research on it.

Hello Chris,

Depends on what you qualify as fully :) There is a product, category and customer import available at the moment. A few more exports are available as well.

The reason you don't find any tutorials is because I haven't written them yet. The product export tutorial is planned for this weekend.

Are all of them supported in CSVI Pro 6?
Custom fields are not yet supported.

I have attached my test CSV file for HikaShop.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

The HikaShop import works the same way as the VirtueMart import, it's just that HikaShop has different field names.

Hi Roland,

I've few more questions. In my Hikashop product import template I can't find "Import based on" option (there isn't even "Options" tab available), I'm guessing default field is product_code?

I did some test import template with product_code and some custom field (cf type: text) and it's working fine - custom field value is importing with product without any problems, probably because Hikashop custom fields are simpler than VM3, I can see Hikashop custom fields are just another columns added to product table.

What about manufacturer name field? I don't have it in my available import fields, only product_manufacturer_id is available, if manufacturer isn't already in Hikashop I don't know its ID, how to bypass this? In Hikashop manufacturers are quite the same as categories, so do I need to fill category_path also with my manufacturers?

Are you planning to add some more features to Hikashop imports/exports? Is there any estimated time? Whole Hikashop-thing looks quite promising ;)

Best regards,
Chris

No need to guess, check out the tutorial Import products for HikaShop. There is no Options tab at this moment.

I can see Hikashop custom fields are just another columns added to product table.
I haven't looked at custom fields yet. If they are just extra columns in the product table, then you just need to run the Update on the available fields to make them usable in CSVI.

What about manufacturer name field? I don't have it in my available import fields, only product_manufacturer_id is available, if manufacturer isn't already in Hikashop I don't know its ID, how to bypass this?
The manufacturer field is called brand in HikaShop because HikaShop calls it brands.

In Hikashop manufacturers are quite the same as categories, so do I need to fill category_path also with my manufacturers?
They are shown in the same structure but brands/manufacturers are just singular. There is no categorization in manufacturers. At least not from CSVI viewpoint.

Are you planning to add some more features to Hikashop imports/exports?
Yes, there are going to be more imports/exports but they need time of course.

Is there any estimated time?
The future :silly:

Whole Hikashop-thing looks quite promising ;)
It sure is, that is why I have chosen to add support for it in CSVI. Just takes time, the past 9 years work has been one on the VM support, HIkaShop is about 6 months old :) It has a little to go.

Hi,

ok, one more thing isn't clear to me. "Brand" field should be available in Hikashop product fields now? There isn't "brand" or "product_brand" or anything with "brand" inside. Already tried Maintenance -> Tasks -> Reset and Update available fields, still no brand is present.

Hikashop Manufacturers aka Brands are quite odd for me now, yes, Brand is single select, but you can choose other brands the same way as categories (whole brand tree is available inline with categories tree while creating/editing product), that's why I asked about category_path, I'm not sure how to handle it.

CSVI Pro 6 RC1
J 3.4.3
Hikashop 2.4

Chris
