Resolved Getting a "Prepared statement needs to be re-prepared" error message

I have template that used to run but now shows me a "Prepared statement needs to be re-prepared" error message. The source is a view in the Joomla database. Please tell me how I can resolve this.

The question then is, what changed?

This is not an error known to me but looking around the internet it seems to be a MySQL 5.6 and lower bug and fixed in MySQL 5.7. This could also have to do with the cache in MySQL where you may need to increase table_open_cache and/or the table_definition_cache setting of MySQL.

Hi RolandD,

Turns out our System Administrator moved the database to a new IP last weekend. What can I do to make the template work?

Hello Steve,
This error is not something we can solve. You need to check with your MySQL settings. Take a look at this stackoverflow discussion to see the possible solutions to solve the error.
