Resolved Exporting VM3 categories

I didn't bother you for a long time - hope you miss me :laugh:

I'm trying to export categories - columns: category_path, file_url, file_title, file_meta and I'm receiving following error:

I'm not using "skip" column in my export template.

Hello Chris,

The skip field is not even available in the export templates because it has no place there. If you copied the template from an import and then renamed it to an export template. It may be best to remove all fields and add the fields you need, or check the fields list if you see any fields out of sorts. If so, remove that one. That should fix it.

Hi,

I didn't copy it from import as you mention, I did clean creation of category template export. I made it once again, still error appears. What's more, while using Quick Add there aren't file_title and file_meta fields available, but while adding each field separately, they're available. Also tried "Update available fields" in maintenance menu and created cats export template once again, unfortunately issue still remains. Also "skip" field is available in felds list while adding fields to template.
Any ideas? :(

Hi,

I tried one more thing and I found out that issue is caused when "file_title" field is present in export fields, I mean, if I have in my export template category_path and file_url fields then everything is ok, but when I add to export file_title, then error about "skip" field appears.

Hello Chris,

Well this explains some stuff. The file_title isn't a field that is part of the category export, so I wonder how you can add it. Only the file_url and file_url_thumb are available image fields for the category export. If you go to Maintenance -> Tasks -> Reset and after that run the Update available fields. Do you still see the file_title field?

Hi,

just checked #__csvi_availablefields table, there aren't file_meta or file_title fields available for vm category export, but still while adding field to template they're visible/available :/

Hello Chris,

Your task settings were incorrect, not sure why resetting them didn't fix it, I think because there are old files on the server. So I updated the category export task with the correct settings, ran the update available fields and now you will see these fields are no longer there. The export can be done now.

You mean no longer in my template, but still visible in available fields list? So for now I musn't use file_title and file_meta and export will be fine I guess? In attachment prntscr.

I didn't see them in the Quick Add. Now looking at the list after clicking the New button I do see it. That is odd, I wonder if a clean install might be needed. With that I mean uninstall CSVI, install CSVI again, Reset the tasks and update the available fields. You will keep your database tables but the files on the server are refreshed.

So for now I musn't use file_title and file_meta and export will be fine I guess?
Correct, these fields are not supported in the export.
