Hi there. I'm trying to export SEF Url's from Virtuemart. How can I do that? The export gives me the full path of the component. I don't have any 'special' component in use except the default of Joomla of course.

Hello,

If you get non-SEF URLs, check your template settings, you may have set not to export SEF URLs. If that is not the case, please post the information requested at the top of this page. Some more information on what you expect and what you actually get would help as well.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,
You template looks good. Can you also post the export debug log along with your export file to check?
Kind regards,

Hello,

There is no debug log.
In that case you have not followed the link we provide at the top of the page under Looking for a useful answer?. It has a tutorial on how to get the debug log.

Besides that, what happens if you choose to Refresh the SEF URLS from the Maintenance menu? You can do this by going to Maintenance -> Select VirtueMart and then select Refresh SEF URLs -> Choose the template to use and then Click the Continue button.

it's been already 5 days and no proccess to that.
That happens if you wait 4 days to reply.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Dear Roland the reason I didn't reply is that I never get an email when an answer is post. I searched for settings on your forum about that but I couldn't find it.

Now, I did what you said about refresh url and the whole back-end was stuck there for more than 10 minutes. Apache was working find I just couldn't enter on the back-end through Chrome - seems the debug log is taking too much sources (17K+products). I'll keep working on that and I'll post back.

Unfortunately it is imposible to export without having errors on server side or without the SQL dying when I have the debug on. Any other suggestions? Is it possible to 'slow down' the export proccess? Or something like that.

Hello,
Since you are saying you are exporting 17k products, it is very much possible that you would have reached limits by generating the SEF URLs as Joomla sends request to front end for each and every SEF URL generated. This must be the cause for your server errors. In your export template on File tab set From record and To record to export only a few records. Check if your export works fine with generated SEF URL.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,

I didn't reply is that I never get an email when an answer is post.
That is odd. When you create a topic, you are automatically subscribed for notifications unless you uncheck the box below saying that you want to be notified. On working days we pretty much always reply within a day.

Is it possible to 'slow down' the export proccess?
The export cannot be slowed down. As Tharuna said, when you are exporting SEF URLs, CSV Improved requests them from the server. This puts an extra load on the export process. To ease that load we have the Refresh SEF URLs on the Maintenance menu.

The SEF URL refresh doesn't generate a debug log, so that can't be the issue. What this does is, it takes 500 products and sends this to a script on the site and gets back 500 SEF URLs in 1 request. So if you have 17,000 products this would equal 34 requests which isn't that much actually. This is per language.

That SEF URL refresh took more than 10 minutes? Are there any records in the csvi_sefurls table?

When you run the export, what actual errors do you get?
Kind regards,

RolandD
