Dear Roland, We just bought your CSVI Pro and also downloaded the Free version.

We installed the free version on a Joomla 2.5 site with VM 2.6.12 With the free version we want to make exports form this website. We already made a couple.
Besides this webshop we developed a new Joomla 3.4.1 webshop with VM 3.x. We installed the Pro version and the plugins and are now trying to import a file from the export we made of the categories from the 2.5 site ( hope yo can follow me...)

To do so, we have to add a customfieldforall?? All goes wel, until we try to select a plugin..there is only a VM Custom - product specification and VM Custom - custom text input. Are we still missing a plugin or another download?

What to do?

Kind Regards,
Ernst van der Heijden

Hello Ernst,

We installed the free version on a Joomla 2.5 site with VM 2.6.12 With the free version we want to make exports form this website.
Why not use the Pro version on both sites? It's not a problem.

To do so, we have to add a customfieldforall?
This plugin is not used for categories but for products.

Are we still missing a plugin or another download?
Apparently you are :) Custom Fields For All is a plugin for VirtueMart developed by Break Designs. So if you want to use it, you will need to get it from there.
Kind regards,

Hi Roland,

It seems that we do not need the custom field plugin. So we deinstalled that.
Is there some kind of documentation how to export from a Joomla2.5 website and import to a Joomal 3.x website? We have 1400 products in the webshop and that's why we thought that your software helps us to do so. We do not feel like importing 1400 products by hand.
Is it possible to im- and export everything or do we first add the categories manually?

Kind Regards,

Hello Ernst,

Let's stick to one problem per topic otherwise it will be impossible to follow in the long run.

Is there some kind of documentation how to export from a Joomla2.5 website and import to a Joomal 3.x website?
You can read the tutorial Import VirtueMart 2 products. The fields you use for import on the new site, would be the same fields you use for export on the old site.

Is it possible to im- and export everything or do we first add the categories manually?
Using the category_path for import will have CSVI create the category when it doesn't exist. If you need to import category descriptions and images, then you will also need to do a category import.

that's why we thought that your software helps us to do so
It will but as with everything new, there is a learning curve ;)

As for the last error, it seems that the template was selected but not loaded since CSVI has no template ID.
Kind regards,

RolandD
