Resolved Export users from Joomla version 2.5.28 to version 3.8.2

Hi there!

I'm relatively new to CSV Improved.

We've just released a new site for our client. In the old Joomla 2.5 site they have a lot of users in the 'Registered' group. Now they would like to migrate those users to the new 3.8 site. I already have a valid CSV Improved license for Joomla 3 :) .

So I'm wondering what is the best way to do this. I was thinking of the most obvious approach:
- using the free CSVI version (never worked with this version) on the 2.5 site, export users
- using the paid version on the 3.8 site, import users

Do you have any recommendations for anything to take in consideration? Do you maybe have some sort of tutorial on this task? I couldn't find such on the website.

In CSVI Downloads page there is a older version of CSVI which is 5.21.2, you can download and install this version in your Joomla 2.5 site to export the users. Install the latest CSVI 7.3.0 version in Joomla 3.8 site to import the users.

Have a look at Joomla Users documentation which explains on both export and import. The looks of CSVI in 5.21.2 version is a bit different but the procedure is the same, you need to create a CSVI export template for Joomla users in your Joomla 2.5 site and add the required fields. Create an import template in Joomla 3.8 site and use the exported file in new site for import. Hope it is clear.
