Hi,
csvi 6.1.2
joomla 3.4.4
vm 3.0.10

I get a 500 error saving any export template. The template is however created, but clicking on it also leads to a 500 error. Fields can be added to it via 'template fields", but exporting leads to the following error:
Error
Table 'tarea3_HB2.x79kf_virtuemart_manufacturers_' doesn't exist SQL=SELECT `mf_name` FROM `x79kf_virtuemart_manufacturers_` LEFT JOIN `x79kf_virtuemart_product_manufacturers` ON `x79kf_virtuemart_product_manufacturers`.`virtuemart_manufacturer_id` = `x79kf_virtuemart_manufacturers_`.`virtuemart_manufacturer_id` WHERE `virtuemart_product_id` = 13

This is the relevant bit of the server log for the 500 error:

Hello,

I get a 500 error saving any export template.
What is the exact error you get?

but exporting leads to the following error
This error happens because no language is selected in the export template. Do you have English installed on the site as well?

Can you backup your template via Maintenance and post it here? I will check it and see if I can fix it so you can at least open this template.
Kind regards,

RolandD

HI,

I have installed the CSVi templates and I have the same error trying to open all of the export ones.
The error message says 'Internal server error' and contact sys admin.

The site is in English only - I don't see any option for language selection when creating a template.
When trying to export from the default templates I get another internal server error, unlike when I try to export from my template which I suppose is tripping up on the lack of set language before the other error kicks in...

I haven't a clue! do you suppose it's something local to the server?

Cheers

Hello,

The error message says 'Internal server error' and contact sys admin.
That is the worst of all errors. It just says there is an error but I won't tell you what. The real error is saved in the server error log. You will need to contact your hosting provider to get the real error, they should be able to find that in the server log.

Ok, I have updated your template, you can load it via the Maintenance and restore option. It will create a new template with the same name but now with more options pre-selected.

In case you haven't done this before you can also try to go to Maintenance -> Tasks -> Reset and confirm and then go to Maintenance -> Available Fields and click Update. This resets the tasks and available fields.

Thanks Roland,

The edited template now gives a 500 error like the others. Here are the errors from the Apache log:
[Wed Sep 23 12:19:33 2015] [error] [client 217.42.201.0] Premature end of script headers: index.php, referer: http://mydomain.com/hbv4/administrator/index.php?option=com_csvi&view=templates

Does it mean anything useful to you?

Hello,

The error Premature end of script headers means that the server stopped CSVI before it could complete it's request. This is also the real error as to why it doesn't work.

One of the reasons for this can be the maximum execution time being exceeded, in that case this should be increased. If you get the error as soon as you start the export, let's say within 20 seconds, it will be another reason. In that case, the hosting company may be able to tell you why this error happens. Ultimately it is the server that stops CSVI from continuing, so the question is what is it that triggers the server to stop the export.
Kind regards,

RolandD

The hosting company can shed no further light on it. They asked if there were any specific PHP setting required for CSVi...

I suppose I should try uninstalling and starting from scratch?

The other log output for this that I could find is below:

The only thing that may be required is an increased max_execution_time setting but you get the error on opening a template, so this is not applicable.

Let's retrace the steps. If you click on New for creating a new template, everything is OK, correct? When you then click Save you get the 500 error, correct?
Kind regards,

RolandD

Yes, but only for export templates. The template is nevertheless created, but gives an error when trying to edit the template or run it. Import templates save fine and run fine.

When clicking the link to edit the export template I just get a white screen saying 'internal server error'. When trying to export from the same template I get the 500 error, but in a dialouge box, as seen in the attached. It states that there was an 'error on the import', but I can confirm that this was definitely an export. The export file is created in the 'tmp' folder with column headers only - no content.

An issue with the language string I think. The least of our worries ;)

Something else in regards to the script headers. Are you by any chance running PHP 5.3? If so, it is time for an update. If not, send me a private message with Joomla/FTP login details and I will take a look.
Kind regards,

Unfortunately I can't upgrade at the moment. The server hosts a few other sites so I need to test them first...

If you think that the PHP version is a likely cause would you suggest downgrading to an earlier CSVi version?
Let me know if you still want login details and I'll PM you.

Thanks

I actually confirmed it on another server.

Not really because I believe that all software must be up-to-date, not just Joomla. Especially when it comes to a PHP version that is so old, I would expect from a hoster to keep their systems up-to-date.

If you have no choice, all you can do is downgrade to CSVI 5, depending on what you need to do, this might cause issues with the latest VirtueMart versions. It is sort of a can of worms when mixing old and new software. That is why the requirements state you need PHP 5.4 for CSVI 6, as it will work. Even that is a minimum version as PHP 5.4 is no longer supported either by PHP.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Understood. I'll try and work out what impact the PHP upgrade will have on my other sites and take it from there.
