Hello,

You guys got a fix for my long standing issue with custom fields of child products that weren't exported unless you overrided them in the backend at that specific child.

But now when I want to go back to the correct situation (unchecking the override) and then export the orders with the overrided custom fields it won't export the values anymore, probably because the overrided is not in the database anymore? I'm not totally sure if that is whats happening but i think it does.

Is it possible in some way to still export the correct values of the parent? Proabbly not but i hope. Or maybe I need to change all the database records of these orders to match the custom field id of the parent with the corresponding value? I'm thinking out loud here. Hope you can help me. THanks

Hello,
Please share some screenshots with example orders so we understand what is going on. Also post the export debug log to check. To get the debug log see How to collect debug information? document.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

I have attached the exported files, the debug and screenshots of the order in this reply.

As you can see the moment I removed the overrides it also removed the instances from the database, and thus also removing the custom fields in the order itself. So I think this is not something CSVI is something can do about. I will check with Virtuemart developers to see if they can change this.

Hello,

It cannot remove custom fields from orders but custom field values stored in orders may not have corresponding rows in database to fetch values in export.

So I think this is not something CSVI is something can do about.

Thats correct. If the value is not in database RO CSVI will not be able to export the value itself.

I will check with Virtuemart developers to see if they can change this.

Let us know what they say.
Kind regards,

Will do thanks.

Also another question related to this. One Page Checkout from Rupostel saves the custom field values in a seperate table, to combait this issue. Is it possible in CSVI to export from a specific table / custom table? So I can use that order id to export the values in that extra tabel from Rupostel?

To export from any custom tables you need to use Advanced custom table export. You can link tables based on primary/foreign keys or any common fields between tables to run export. Since this is a generic export it does not provide filter options in export template like you have in VirtueMart order export.
