Hi. I have exported my products but because my child products don't have categories assigned to them, trying to organise the list is difficult as I would like all the parent products to have the child products listed under them in order.

If you look at the attachment, you will see the category field for the child products is empty, how can we fill that with the relevant parent product category?

I know this can be done in excel but I would like it to export this way as it needs to be done by someone else.

Thanks

Hello,
Currently CSVI doesn't export parent category for child if no category is set for child. I have added this feature for our next release and the patch file is attached to this post. Since you haven't mentioned the your CSVI version i wanted to also say that this patch file has been developed with latest CSVI 7.0.2 version files. Please do the following and let me know how it goes.

1. Load the attached patch file from CSVI maintenance menu.
2. In your export template settings on Options tab, you can see an option Use parent category, set it to Yes.
3. Run the export.

Hello,

Just a thought that I wanted to share, if you decide to import the list and the child products have a category_path set, this category_path will be linked to the child product and the child product will no longer be depending on it's parent. Just something to be aware of.
