Hi,

I've tried exporting/importing a menu with-out much success. My log file says "Menu has been updated", but the menu items don't appear either published or not.

Thanks in advance
Jamie

Hello,
In your import file you are having id field which would say that menu item is already existing in database and only try do a update. You should remove this field and then do the import. Have a look at Import Joomla menus document to know on the required fields for Joomla menu import. If CSVI finds a record matching the values found in required fields it will do a update the existing record else a new entry for menu will be done.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

I tried that and I only get the following error -
"One or more of the required fields is missing. The required fields are path and type or id"

I've tried reducing the number of fields to the minimum but same applies.
There are no Field names available for: url, heading, separator

Hello,
Please check the document i linked in my previous post, the required fields are type, path and menutype. You are missing a required field menutype in your import file. Try the import adding this field and see how it goes.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Ok, I've gone back to basics and corrected the Fields. Now I get a SQL error.

Duplicate entry 'mainmenu' for key 'idx_menutype' SQL=INSERT INTO `#__menu_types` (`menutype`,`title`,`description`) VALUES ('mainmenu', 'mainmenu', 'mainmenu')

Hello,

The CSV file is that of content import but I think you want to import menus. Can you post the correct file you want to import?
Kind regards,

RolandD

Wowh! Thanks. It did import all the menu items but 'menuordering' is missing despite being present having a Field name in the template.

Hello,
You don't have menu ordering field in your import file. You need to specify it in import file so CSVI inserts it accordingly.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Sorry for the delay...

It isn't being exported despite being in the template's fields.

Hello,
Are you talking about menu import or export? The previous message talks about import but the log file seems to be for export. Can we get this clear first on what you are doing?
Kind regards,

Tharuna

The export file doesn't contain the field menu_ordering, despite it being in the template field.
Subsequently, from what you're saying, the same field isn't showing up in the import, despite it also being present in the template field.

Hello,
Menu ordering field is not supported in menu export in CSVI, your debug log don't have any menu ordering field too. Can you share screenshot of your export template fields?

Also the name of the field is menuordering and not menu_ordering which is supported only in import.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello,
There has been an issue that few of import fields show up in export template fields which is fixed and is coming in our next version. You are seeing menuordering field because of this issue. It is actually an field supported only for import and doesn't work for export.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
