Hello,
CSVI has option to export only as CSV, HTML and XML. If you are going to use CSVI to import articles to your new site, you can use the exported file to import to new site.

Hello,
Excel can read CSV files, so if you export a CSV file but give it the extension XLS, you can just double-click the file and Excel will open it.

Is there any way to export all the fields or do I have to select each field I want to export?

Hello,
You have to select each field that you want. The reason we don't have the option to select all is because you never need all. This way you need to make an informed choice as to what you are exporting and importing. You can't just select all hit export and hit import to move things over.

Thanks.
One of the reasons I bought CSV it is because I need to export all the articles & categories from one site and import them all to a new site. And to tell you the truth I did not know there were that many fields.
Please advise what fields do you reccomend to select to export and then to import?
Thanks

Hello,
Luckily most of these things are set to default, so you don't really have to do anything with them.
Just let us know if you are in need for a particular field.
And to tell you the truth I did not know there were that many fields.Look at when you edit an article in Joomla, you get a bonanza of things you can set

Please advise what fields do you reccomend to select to export and then to import? We have a Joomla content import tutorial available to get you started. Once you have that working you can add more fields as needed. This should get you going for now.
Just let us know if you are in need for a particular field.
