Resolved Export content under a specific category INCLUDING subcategories

Hi all,

This is smth that bugs me for sometime now, here how it goes:

Let's say for example i want to make a Joomla Content Export and export all content under a specific category INCLUDING the subcategories. It seems i can't, as i have to select all subcategories individually:

Category 1
->Subcategory 1
->Subcategory 2
...
-> Subcategory n

I need to select all Subcategories one by one, while it would be nice to have an option to include them automatically when selecting Category 1 instead.

Current way of working it's a pain for two main reasons:

- You might have alot of subcategories (like in our case)
- We often add new subcategories which means that every time we have to go back to the template and add them.

Could such an option 'Include Subcategories' be added? (I guess this bevahiour is in many other places in CSVI so it's an interesting topic imho)

The patch for the fields worked :) Tested also the category export patch and seems to be working nicely so far, thanks for the fast support!

Hello Chris,
Do you have CSVI VirtueMart addon installed and enabled? If yes, can you try to load the attached patch file and see if update of available fields goes good?

Thanks so much Tharuna!

I think it's irrelevant to the patch but i get the following error when i try to update the list of fields:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1
The list of available fields is out-of-date for extension com_categories. Update the list to ensure you have all fields available.

How can i troubleshoot that? Then i can check the export i guess properly.

Yes, it is a good improvement for Joomla content export. I have added this feature and have attached the patch file. Can you load the attached patch file and give it a try?
