I am trying to export content categories from a J3 website to a J4 website. I created an export template using these fields:
id,access,alias,level,lft,rgt,title
I created an import template on the J4 website. But after inporting the files the categories are not added. The preview does show the records OK. There is also a message telling me 8 records have been processed. There are no error messages. But when I go to the category list I do not see the imported categories.
Am I missing something?
Kind regards,
Jip

Hello Jip,
You need to remove id field and add category_path and extension field along with other needed fields in Joomla categories export. Try the import in Joomla4 site with these fields. If you still have problem with import then please post import debug log to check. To get the debug log check How to collect debug information? document.

Hi Tharuna, thanks for getting back to me on this. I have added category_path and extension to the export. But noiw I run into a different error:
Field 'modified_time' doesn't have a default value
There is no modified_time field in the export file. But even when I do add that I still get this error.

On the import template: Do I need to create any template fields?
Edit: I found this in the documentation:
2. Since the export file has column headers which are of Joomla content table there is no need to add template fields. You can run the import directly with the export file.
So no need to set up temlate fields. Correct?

Hello,
Yes no need to add template fields as column headers in export file as same as database fields.
