Hi

I am trying to upgrade to version 7.5 from 7.4.1

I am getting the following error

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /usr/www/users/corporat/ri/administrator/components/com_csvi/helper/database.php on line 84

Please advise as to a possible solution. My other sites have updated with no problem

Thanks

Joomla version 3.8.3

Hello,
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /usr/www/users/corporat/ri/administrator/components/com_csvi/helper/database.php on line 84

Can you open the file /administrator/components/com_csvi/helper/database.php at the location and tell us what you see on line number 84? Can you paste it here?

Please advise as to a possible solution. My other sites have updated with no problem

What different was done in this site update to get to this error?
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi Tharuna

Nothing different. All my sites use the same template and are on version 3.8.3

I have been updating the PRO to version 7.5

I have found on the other sites that the page went blank after the update but the module was installed.

This is beyond my skill level

Hello,
I guess you would have had a 500 internal server error and so the blank page after install. To confirm on this

1. Can you check your server error logs and see if there is an entry for this error?
2. Is the PHP version different for the sites having problem with update and the sites for which update went fine?
3. Can you also tell us the PHP version running on site where you see the error?
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi Tharuna

I will try get the info regarding the server errors. Currently there atre no error logs. Could this be due to the fact that I rolled back the database to before the update?

If I look at the PHP. they all running version 5.6

Hello,
Could this be due to the fact that I rolled back the database to before the update?

I do not get what you mean by rolled back, did you put the database from backup?
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi

When I got the error I used a backup of the database from before the update. Could this be why I am unable to find any errors relating to the message I got?

Hello,

This is not because you rolled back. The server error logs are retained on the server. You may need to consult with your hosting provider to find out the error in the logs. We will test the process on PHP 5.6 and see what happens.
Kind regards,

Hello,

I can confirm the issue is reproducible on PHP 5.6. Today a bugfix will be released to deal with this issue.
Kind regards,
