The list of available fields is out-of-date for extension com_categories. Update the list to ensure you have all fields available.

Hello,
There is actually no setting for update available fields, this feature checks if any new fields have been added in an extension table and add them as CSVI template fields. I still don't understand why you are not seeing Joomla custom fields in template fields. You need to send the details what i have requested to help more on this.

Hello,
Could you please tell me what are the steps you have followed to see that custom fields in Template Fields?

The steps you have mentioned are the same i followed except that i did not Set the Action as Import, Component as "Joomla Content" but click on Update button. But that is not a problem. After updating available fields i can see the custom fields in the list of template fields for Joomla content template. Can i take a look at your site? Unless i see the site i wont be able to tell why you are not seeing the custom field in template fields.

Could you please tell me what are the steps you have followed to see that custom fields in Template Fields?

In my scenario, I have created one Joomla custom field name "Test" for Joomla Article(Content) having field type text. Then I have gone to the Available Fields option of CSVI. Set the Action as Import, Component as "Joomla Content" & clicked on "Update" button from the top section. It runs some process & then I was gone to create new field in existing Import template but unfortunately it does not show the "Test" field.

Hello,
So i created few custom fields following your screenshot on my local server and updated available fields and these fields show up for me in CSVI template fields. I wanted to make one thing clear, in CSVI template fields you won't be seeing the Title of the custom field but its alias like for example for Page No custom field you will be seeing the alias page-no and same for Quote Content, the alias quote-content will be shown in template fields. If you are not seeing these fields, send me a PM of your administrator login details and i will take a look at it.

Yes, I have updated my Available fields & also before that I have cleared the cache also but still it is not showing in the template fields to select.

As per the screenshot posted in the thread, your Joomla custom fields looks fine. Did you update your available fields after adding these custom fields?

Actually, it shows Joomla custom fields with this message "The list of available fields is out-of-date for extension com_categories. Update the list to ensure you have all fields available."

I agree that you are seeing this error but this error is not the reason for you to not see the Joomla custom fields added from "Content >> Fields". You will be seeing this error on other CSVI pages too.

Can you post a screenshot of your Joomla custom fields as requested?

Actually, it shows Joomla custom fields with this message "The list of available fields is out-of-date for extension com_categories. Update the list to ensure you have all fields available."

The issue is, it shows the above error message & does not show the extra fields(created from "Content >> Fields" for article content) while creating template fields for particular template.

The out-of-date available fields error is not related to the issue of not seeing the extra custom fields added for Joomla content. These are two different things. Let us go one issue at a time. First that Joomla custom fields not showing in available fields. Can you post a screenshot on your custom fields for Joomla content?

Tried with the given solution for Joomla Content file also by setting threshold field value to some lesser(also some greater) value. Cleared the cache & Again Update the Available fields of Joomla Content component for import action.

It shows same error message & does not list the extra custom fields while creating template fields for the particular template(import).

Still, it shows me error as "The list of available fields is out-of-date for extension com_categories. Update the list to ensure you have all fields available"

CSVI has a threshold limit for available fields for each extension, if the available fields of the extension is less than set threshold limit, CSVI shows this error "The list of available fields is out-of-date for extension com_categories. Update the list to ensure you have all fields available". In your case it is with com_categories extension. What you can do is open file plugins/csviaddon/categories/com_categories/model/maintenance.php and at line 172, change the threshold limit from 35 to some lesser number. You can then clear the cache from System -> Clear Cache and check if the error is gone.

Hi,

I am also facing the same issue. Tried with all the steps mentioned by you i.e. clear the cache on Administrator filter, also my logs folder have writable permissions.

I have also "Update Available Fields" as below settings.

Maintenance >> Available Fields :
Action : Imports
Component : Joomla Content
Content

Still, it shows me error as "The list of available fields is out-of-date for extension com_categories. Update the list to ensure you have all fields available" & my custom fields are not listed while I am creating template fields for the particular template for import action.

Hello,

If you go to System -> Clear Cache and filter on Administrator. You should see com_csvi in the list, you can delete all cache files. Do you still see the notice about the update of available fields after that?

You can check the log file permissions on the About page of CSVI and fix whatever may need fixing.

Did you check the permission of your logs folder as told in my previous post? Did you update your available fields? Are you still seeing the error even after updating your available fields?

These are two different errors.
Cannot write to log file.

Check if your tmp folder has correct permissions set. You can check this on CSVI About page, the status of all the folders should be writable on this page.

The list of available fields is out-of-date for extension com_categories. Update the list to ensure you have all fields available.

Looks like your available fields are outdated. Please update your available fields so you don't see this message.
