Hi Roland,

I've got a new error when I tried to import English categories:
Incorrect Failure Languages el_gr and en_gb set but no category_path_trans field found. To import a single category set both languages to be the same.

The thing is that I look at the csv and this field exists.

Please advice.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Your debug log seems to say you are importing a different file than you have posted here. The fields it finds in the file are:
Field: category_name
Field: category_path
Field: created_by
Field: created_on
Field: customtitle
Field: file_description
Field: file_meta
Field: file_title
Field: file_url
Field: file_url_thumb
Field: hits
Field: locked_by
Field: locked_on
Field: metaauthor
Field: metadesc
Field: metakey
Field: metarobot
Field: modified_by
Field: modified_on
Field: published
Field: slug
This doesn't match the file you attached. So I imported your file and this went without a problem. Check if you have used the right file for import.
Kind regards,

RolandD

I tried to import the English Categories. No errors now, but it appears that the export has the Greek. No English were added. Although I Selected Greek (Primary) and English Translation).

I don't know if this helps. It's the export log.

Don't know why you say it doesn't work because I see the data is in your database:
UPDATE `pkbsj_virtuemart_categories_en_gb` SET `category_name`='Hand Painted',`category_description`='<h3 class=\"btn-large\" style=\"white-space: normal;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana,geneva; font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\"><a href=\"http://www.handpaintedbycarmel.com/\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">\" Hand Painted \"</span></a></span></h3>',`slug`='hand-painted' WHERE `virtuemart_category_id`='1'
this is the data going into the English language table for the categories. You don't see the English in the backend?
Kind regards,

RolandD

Some of the categories are entered in English also in the Greek language. The category in question is not a good example. Please check this category (This is the old site, that I am exporting):
Greek: http://www.dogbows.gr/el/products/shoes
English: http://www.dogbows.gr/en/products-en/shoes
You will see that it's in Greek, however also in English has Greek (You can see that in the csv files I attached previously).

Hello,

Yes, I have seen the issue and was able to reproduce it here. Attached is a patch file you can load that fixes the import and adds the category information to all categories.

Let me know how it goes.

Hello,

Something must be going wrong on the site because I have used the patch on 2 sites and all imported fine. Please email or private message me login details, ftp details and the URL so I can take a look for you.
Kind regards,

Hi Roland,

The credentials I sent you are for the test site, the one we use to import the data, do you could empty the VM db, if you like. Do you also require the credentials from the site we use for export?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Ok, I finally found the issue and your subcategories have images now as well. Descriptions of both English and Greek are imported, when I edit a category and change the language it has data there for both languages.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Glad I could help you find the problem. Did you release a new patch?
Also did you try to import products? Because there was an issue about the translation also with the products.

Hello,

I did not release a new patch, I already made the changes on your site. The changed code will be available in the next release as well.

Also did you try to import products?
Oh yes, you can see in your log I did a number of imports on your site.

Because there was an issue about the translation also with the products.
That is another issue then because we were talking about categories here. Can you start a new thread for that?
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Roland,

As I already told you, the site you used to make the changes, is a test site, I created so you could continue the test and find the problem. This is not the one I am going to deliver to live.
So, if you are sure the problem is resolved, I could really use the patch for my live site, since it's going to save me a lot of work, if I manage to perform the import.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Roland,

I'll try it and keep you posted.

I think you should change the subject of this thread to something more right, like problem importing categories in multilingual environment.

I think the title is correct enough as it is called Error on import multi-language categories.
Kind regards,

You are right. I was talking about this thread, because I did not have problems during the installation: http://www.csvimproved.com/en/forum?view=topic&catid=44&id=32049&start=24 I just posted it to the wrong one.
