Hello,

I moved your topic to it's own thread because "Same problem" doesn't apply when you respond to a thread with 2 problems. Nor do I see any similarities between your issue and the one posted in the other thread.

You did not post the debug log a requested at the top under Looking for a useful answer? so I can't help you to see where the problem is. Nor do I know what your problem is or if you get an error.

Please post what is requested under Looking for a useful answer? and we can see how to solve it. It may have to do with the delimiters you have chosen, you can just use comma and double-quotes instead of these odd ones.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Roland,

I am trying to import a VM categories export file.
The error I get is: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 3 SQL=SELECT name FROM pkbsj_csvi_template_settings WHERE id =
Although I activate the collect debug information, I don't see any further error. (No log entries found)

Please advise.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Just to be sure, you did select a template before you start the import, correct? You can verify that by looking at the URL, it should have the template_id=xx set.

Something else you can check is if there are any JavaScript errors. The Using Firebug to analyze import problems explains how to do that. Let's see if that gives any information.
Kind regards,

RolandD

You got me! No I was not selecting a template. As soon as I did it worked. Thanks a lot! However, although I have selected to use the headers as configuration, it did not get the images. Do I still need to add those fields in the template configuration?

No I was not selecting a template.
In that case CSVI has no clue what you want to do :)

Do I still need to add those fields in the template configuration?
Not if you set to use headers as configuration but check the Image tab if you have set Image processing to Yes, otherwise post the debug log.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Yep, set Image processing to Yes resolved it.
Best support in Joomla community. I will review the extension in Joomla.org :)
Thanks a million!

Hi again,

I made a mistake and imported data with ids. Is there any way to delete just the products and categories, but nothing else in VM and perform the import again?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

You can go to Maintenance and choose VirtueMart and then select Empty database. This will empty the database and you can start clean. It does delete a bit more than that but your shop settings and everything will remain intact.

The other way is of course to list all products/categories and select and delete them.
Kind regards,

RolandD

I need to keep the payments, etc. The thing is that since I made this mistake, I don't see the products in vm, in order to delete them and I get duplicate errors on import, due to duplicated skus. Maybe I should delete them at phpmyadmin. What do you think?

The orders and related information like users are all kept. Only product related information is removed.

I erased the db, sadly it erased the payment was too.
When I tried to import again, I get:
Oops something went wrong.

Let me try to show the warning below here. If nothing shows up then I didn't get any data, sometimes this is caused by faulty plugins.

Cancel the import and check if all settings are correct and try the import again. We must be talking about something else then, not the order payments in that case.

You have error reporting set to the highest possible level, that is not needed. Go to Global Configuration -> Server -> Error Reporting and set it to System default or None.

Edit: I also noticed that the images of the subcategories are not processed.
Where is your debug log?
Kind regards,

RolandD

I was talking about the payment ways,

I have uploaded the log as you requested. I emptied the db again and reimported, but still there are no pictures at the subcategories.

Also, the site's main language is Greek. I tried to import the English, but it didn't import them. I used the way it's described for VM2. I don't know if there are instruction for VM3.

Thanks again.

The category images have a problem, look at this:

UPDATE `pkbsj_virtuemart_medias` SET `virtuemart_vendor_id`='1',`file_title`='',`file_description`='',`file_meta`='',`file_mimetype`='image/jpeg',`file_type`='category',`file_url`='images/stories/virtuemart/category/jpg77854117.jpg',`file_url_thumb`='images/stories/virtuemart/category/images/stories/virtuemart/category/resized/jpg77854117_200x200.jpg',`file_is_product_image`='0',`file_is_downloadable`='0',`file_is_forSale`='0',`published`='1' WHERE `virtuemart_media_id`='58'
The thumbnail images have a weird path. The folder structure is duplicated. That will be the reason why you don't see thumbnails. The full image you should see unless that path is incorrect.

Also, the site's main language is Greek. I tried to import the English, but it didn't import them. I used the way it's described for VM2. I don't know if there are instruction for VM3.
That still works the same. You need the trans field and language setup correctly in the template.

Let's focus on the images first. I will check what happens with your thumbnail image. Are you still using the same file as you posted in the first thread?
Kind regards,

RolandD

I discovered that there were category names that contained forward slash "/" in their names so I replaced the template's "/" with "|". I erased the VM db again and reimported. However, only the names of these categories came up right. The rest of the problems remain. I attach the csvs and the logs.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I don't know if this helps, but I export from J2.5 & VM2 and import to J3 & VM3.

The rest of the problems remain.
What do you mean by "the rest"?

Of course the image problem won't change since I haven't checked yet and I said I will check. The problem with the thumbnail is that you have the full path in your CSV file and CSVI adds the preceding path to it. You can wait for me to get back to you before you try again importing your images.

As for the | separator you can only use that in the category import and not in the product import because it is a reserved character for specifying multiple categories.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Thanks Roland,

By saying that the problems remain, I meant that / change did not affect the problems.

I am waiting for you to check and let me know.

Hello,

Attached is a patch file you can load via the Maintenance menu -> CSVI Pro -> Load patch. After that run your category import and see if it works for you.

I tried to use your file but it is unreadable here, so I used my own for testing.

Thanks Roland,

I applied the patch to the export Joomla installation and to the Import Joomla installation. I emptied the db and reimported.
Although the categories look fine now, the images of the subcategories are still not processed.
I attach the log and the csv.

Thanks in advance.
