Hi, there! I am struggling with "Custom Fields for All" custom fields.

After I make small changes (i.e. prices) on the exported file, I try to import the changes back. Here is relevant info:

  • The changes do not take place.

  • There is no log output for the importing process.

  • The existing related products are being added again (each time I use the CSVI), creating multiple entries (of related products)

When I try to import a new record with "CF4All" custom fields, one I manually add to the exported file:

  • The new product is inserted correctly, but the new record contains only one C4All custom field and skips the rest

The same thing is happening with two export templates I created (one for full product details and one with only the CF4All custom field values).

CSVI Pro Version: 6.6.4
VirtueMart Version 3.0.18
Joomla! version: 3.6.4
PHP version: 7.0.12

Any ideas? Thx, V

Hello,

There is no log output for the importing process.
That will mean you have not turned it on.

Just one question, why are you dealing with 85 fields? Are you sure you need them all? Since you are struggling with the custom fields, let's make the import file a lot simpler at first and then the other fields can be added again. As per the Custom fields for all for VirtueMart documentation you only need to use these fields custom_title, custom_value and custom_param for dealing with the CF4All fields. Add to that the product_sku field and you have a very simple file.

Import that file first and enable the logging so we can see what happens on your import. Once that is working, we can look at adding more fields.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi RonaldD,

As you may see in previous message, I also have a second template that only exports the minimum required fields. Yet, it still gives the same results: No changes (or no import of CF4All fields)!

For the no log after import, you were right... It was not turned on!

Hello,

The log is helpful, there I see the following: The number of custom titles is not equal to the number of custom values Looking at the first row of your import file, the custom_title field has 19 values but the custom_value has 23 values. These numbers must be the same otherwise CSVI doesn't know how to map the title and the value.

Once that is fixed the import can be run again and we can see what happens.
Kind regards,

RolandD
