I'm using vm 3.0.8, joomla 3.4.1, and csvi 5.21.1

I have custom fields set up to collect unique customer information on certain products. When I try to export the orders, I can't figure out how to make those fields available and find that information the customers have manually input when they purchase those products.

I use the following custom fields: string, textinput, and customfieldsforall.

Any help on how to make those show up in the report (along with the information the customer has input) would be a huge help.

Thanks,

Ryan

Hello Ryan,

I can't figure out how to make those fields available
That makes two of us. The main problem here is that these custom field values are not stored in the orders.

All the custom field information (they are IDs) is stored in a single field called product_attribute by VirtueMart. So all this information will always export as a single field as well.

Now I see you don't have the product_attribute field in your export. Add this field to your export and see what comes out because CSVI does try to get some understandable values. We can take it from there.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi,

Thanks for helping out with this.

I ran it including product_attribute, but it only pulled the title of the field and what kind of custom field it is, not the information the customer fills out.

When I look at the individual orders in virtuemart, it seems like this information must be stored somewhere that allows it to show up on the order form. I've attached a sample order (with the student info blacked out). Under 'Product Name' the non-blacked out sections are the field titles and the blacked out sections have the information filled out by the customer. It shows up there just fine. So, it's somewhere...I just don't know where or how to get it to show up on a report.

Any ideas? This information is crucial for getting the reports we need (without having to manually sort through way too many orders and transfer the information by ourselves).

Thanks!

Ryan

Hello Ryan,

Is it possible to email me a backup of your site or give me Joomla/FTP/Database access to your site so I can see what is in there and what should be exported.

With custom fields it is difficult to get a clear idea without seeing them.
Kind regards,

RolandD
