Hi lovely people :)

i have one question regarding import of the products - in previous version, when I make an import of products with a table with custom fields, some of which are empty, the empty fields do not show in product details page. But now, with RO CSVI 7.14.0, when I have imported my file, every product has every single custom filed, no matter that it is empty or not. Check the screenshot, please. and you will notice the strange disinh: word after every custom field. What is the meaning of it? I have already imported all of my products, and will be happy, if there is a solution, not to delete all of them and to import them again. Thank you!

Is there an option somewhere in CSV from where I can delete empty custom fields only. It will be great!

Hello,
i have one question regarding import of the products - in previous version, when I make an import of products with a table with custom fields, some of which are empty, the empty fields do not show in product details page. But now, with RO CSVI 7.14.0, when I have imported my file, every product has every single custom filed, no matter that it is empty or not.

With RO CSVI 7.14.0 version we have added a new option in import template for empty custom fields should be imported or not. You can find this option on File tab and as "Skip empty custom fields". Check if you have set this to Yes. Setting this option to Yes will not import empty custom fields.

Check the screenshot, please. and you will notice the strange disinh: word after every custom field. What is the meaning of it?

The checkbox disinh: is added by VirtueMart in its latest version. As much as we know it is called disable inheritance for child product. It is something like override and disabler fields for parent product but for a child product. You can get more details on it from VirtueMart forum.

Is there an option somewhere in CSV from where I can delete empty custom fields only. It will be great!

Check the above setting and let me know if it works for you.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

So there is no way to delete only empty fields, without deleting products?

Hello,
You don't have to delete the products. There are two options here, one is that when doing import RO CSVI will automatically delete the existing custom field you are importing in the database for a product and insert new one. There is no setting needed for this and it is part of import. Other option is that, if you want to remove all the custom field related to a product, in your import template on Options tab set Delete custom fields relation to Yes and run the import. Click on Advanced button if you don't see this option. The latter will remove all the custom fields for a product and the former will delete only the custom field imported. Let me know if it helps.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
