Resolved Copy description to short description

In my csv there is no short description so i used the copy filter
But it does nothing for me :)

Hello,

I see you assigned the replacement rule to the short description field but this field has no data. So assign the rule to the description field and you should get the short description filled.

Hello,

That is much easier to read ;) So I see in the debug log you posted as well that the product_s_desc field is not in your list of template fields. Have you removed or unpublished this field? The field must be present in the list of template fields as well. You can place this field at the end of the list so CSVI will use it for import.

So if i don't understand it wrong.
I must edit the CSV and add a new field before i can use the copy plugin?
Rather i have a solution where i do not have to edit the csv to get the short description filled.
Is there a way?

media_published and published for example can be used while not available in the csv

No, don't edit the CSV file. Just add the product_s_desc field to the list of the Template fields. So for example your CSV file has 10 fields and the Template fields has 11 fields. CSVI will match the first 10 fields from your CSV to the fields in the Template fields and the last field will be imported as-is. You can add a default value here or fill it with the copy plugin etc.

The published field is often used like that as well. You can have as many extra fields as needed.

I delete the rules and the field and did everything over again.
It works like expected.
What i did wrong?? i don't know

I am very satisfied with the csvi and it filters

Hello,

Without investigating the site it is hard to say what was wrong, all I can say is that the debug log showed the product_s_desc was not in the list of fields. That way the short description would never import. Sometimes doing a new template is easier than trying to find the issue :)
