I migrated content categories from J3 to J4. (Using the default migration templates). On J3 we had one category that contained 4 subcategories. After import those 4 were placed on the root level. Not below the categroy where the were / should be.

In the export template there is a lft field but not a rgt field by default. Should I have added this field to have the nested categories imported correctly?

Maybe that field could / should be added to the template?

I corrected this manually now. But I also had to move some articles to those categories because the ended up under a different category.

Kind regards,
Jip

Please post the import debug log and import file to check. To get the debug log see How to collect debug information? document.

Joomla uses lft value to generate rgt value. Since RO CSVI uses Joomla code for nested categories rgt values are imported using lft value and so we do not have that field in template.

I corrected this manually now. But I also had to move some articles to those categories because the ended up under a different category.

We will check what has gone wrong from import debug log. Please post the requested files to check.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
