Hi,

I have now switched my CSVI version from 5 to 6. In the 5.21.2 Version it was possible to select a category(options -> category) and export all products with all child products(they have no category assigned) included. In Version 6.6.3 this doesn't work anymore, just the parent products will be exported.

I saw this thread https://csvimproved.com/forum?view=topic&catid=44&id=32879&start=24
And there you state the following:

If you only want these couple of products in an export file, you can use the Product SKU filter. The combination you want isn't possible because for the system there is no relation between these child products and category.

The product sku filter does not work for me. Because I don't know the child products sku's before the export.

I can see why the SQL statement does not work. But wouldn't it be possible to include an Option to export also every child product to any parent product that will be exportet like in CSVI 5.

Thanks!

Regards

Hello,
In your product export template settings on Options tab, set Parent products only and child products only filters to Yes and try the export. This should export you both parent and child products.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi,

unfortunately this does not work.
It only works if I export all Products. But if I use the category filter, csvi exports only the parent products.

Hello,
If you have your category filter set then try setting both Parent products only and child products only filters to No and do the export. This should fix your issue.

No for me it does not work, maybe I'm doing something else wrong.

However, I tried following settings

Category: set to one category
Parent products only: No /
Child Products only: No

Exports just parent products of the given category

Category: set to one category
Parent products only: Yes
Child Products only: Yes

Exports just parent products of the given category

Category: Don't use
Parent products only: No
Child Products only: No

Here it works. Parent and child products are exported.
But it does not really help me because I just need the
products(parent and childs) of one category.

What I need is all products(parent and children) of one category. I think I tried almost all combinations of options, and I can't find a way to do this. Is it a bug? Or is it with the current version of CSVI not possible?

For now I found following manual workaround. I made an SQL Query directly to the database to get all products an children sku's for a category. Then i use the option "Product SKU Filter" to export the products(parent and children). It works but it is not a really practical solution and I can't automate it.

Hello,
Category: set to one category
Parent products only: No /
Child Products only: No Exports just parent products of the given category

This scenario works for me but not sure why it is not working for you, Is it possible for you to send me your VirtueMart product and category tables mysql dump to check? You can email it to me at tharuna@csvimproved.com.

Category: set to one category
Parent products only: Yes
Child Products only: Yes Exports just parent products of the given category

That is correct, since parent products filter is set to Yes, it would export only parent products.

Category: Don't use
Parent products only: No
Child Products only: No Here it works. Parent and child products are exported.
But it does not really help me because I just need the
products(parent and childs) of one category.

This is also correct. This is when no filters are set, it would export all the products.

What I need is all products(parent and children) of one category. I think I tried almost all combinations of options, and I can't find a way to do this. Is it a bug? Or is it with the current version of CSVI not possible?

I would like to check your data in your database tables so to say why it is not working and to help you here.
Kind regards,
