Hi!
I understand that this is the component that will solve the massimport of products...
However, i have no been trying to import a CSV-file that are exported from Magento 1 and contains like 2000 products with no success.
I use CVSI Pro 7.12.0, Joomla! 3.9.6 and Virtuemart 3.4.2.

I have followed the tutorials with out success.
1: When hit the "Back" button in CSVI i do get a Internal Server Error (500) - The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. It also says "Additionally, a 303 See Other error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

And now my problem...
The CSV file can´t be imported and i have tryed to import in all kind of different ways. I have updated the fields, i have followed the steps for Template fields, tryed the Field mapper but in the end, i can´t get it to work... Do i understand right that when importing the file to Virtuemart do i choose "Products" or do i need to do different imports for Categorys, Sub categorys, custom fields and so on?
I need some help to get it to work.

About images...
All this products do of course have images on the old site. Is it possible to import the images and of course link them to correct product? How do i do this?

About customers...
On the old site do we have different price for customers like a regular customer have one price and retailers have a different price. How can i import this? Is it possible?

For starter do i need guidance or help to get it to work. In my mind do i know that it works but i can´t really figure out how i get there..

Thanx for a great extension and thanx in advance

Regards
Peter

Hello Peter,

Let's take one problem at a time. Having multiple questions in one topic is confusing we know from experience ;) So let's focus on the product import.

Unfortunately you have not provided the information we requested at the top of the page in the blue box, that is a sample of your file and the debug log. This information will help us greatly to help you. Now it is more like, "it doesn't work", there is not much we can do with that.

As for the Internal Server Error, we have a document on that, see the documentation at 500 Internal Server Error.

You understand it correctly, you need the Products import as you are trying to import products.

CSVI can import your images from the external server if you have the full URL to the image. In your product import template on the image tab you can set the Download images to Yes.

Let's get the products working first and then we can move on to other questions.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello again!
Thanx for your answer and sorry for my late reply.
I apologize for all the questions in one thread. :-)
Since the import are the primary question will i stick to this...

I need help and guidance to get it to work. The CSV are exported from WP/Magento 1. I need to import this to Joomla / Virtuemart. Both products and customers need to be imported together with images. I will have access to download the images folder from the old site if that’s easier way to go.
I will try to explain the steps I go through and the results. Both CSVI and VM are fresh installations with no data at all.

1: I create new template and name it
Import - Virtuemart - Product / Load from computer

2: Select options
Autodetect delimiters: yes
Mac: Yes
Use file for configuration: yes
Skip first line: Yes
Record name: Will I leave empty or what do I need here?

3: Select fields
Uploading the CSV and get the names of fields.
What do I choose in the dropdown where it says calc_kind? (Trying Calc_kind)

The result says ”All set and done. Your template is now ready for import.”

Then I go to the Template again.
I choose the CSV I used for the fields and uploading from computer

Options:
Language set to Swedish
Category separator: / ( I am not sure what I set in this field)
Append Categories: Yes
Import based on: calc_kind (Not sure if I set to calc_ or sku)
Lines to import: 20000
Time: 2
Overide: no
Run template: here I choose the CSV file and hit preview.
Then I get following:
Import file contains 61484 lines
calc_kind
512-9 (this is row nr 2 in the csv)

When I click back do I get ”Internal server error” that I reported to the host.

And after all this I do are I stuck and nothing have been imported.

Please, what do I do wrong?

Hello,

You have changed so many settings and I think without actually knowing what they are for. So we should bring the majority of the settings back to their default values.

Use file for configuration: yes
Skip first line: Yes

This means that your first row does not contain any data and that row 2 contains your column headers. Is that correct?

Does your file contain column headers using the CSVI field names?

Append Categories: Yes
This should not be needed either unless you are importing the same product from different files with different categories.

Category separator: / ( I am not sure what I set in this field)
Category separator by default is a /. Check the documentation on the category_path for what this is used for.

The Import based on should not be changed and remain at product_sku. The calc_kind says nothing about the product ;)

Your settings are quite unrealistic as well.
Lines to import: 20000
Time: 2
You won't be able to import 20,000 lines in 30 seconds and then wait 2 seconds and do this again. Please keep the default values unless you really need to change them. Set this back to 1000. This may actually be the cause of your internal server error.

First we need to bring the template inline with your import file. It will help us if you post a sample of your import file and the debug log. Otherwise most answers are guess answers rather than based on what happens on your system.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,

I am afraid we will not be configuring and setting up the import for you, that is beyond regular service. What we can do is start by giving us a sample of the file you want to import, as we have requested at the top of the page in the big blue box.

We can tell you what you may need to do to import the file. From what I can tell so far, your template is so out-of-order, it is better to start clean. When we have the sample of your import file we can get an idea of what you are looking at.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Thanx Rolandd!
I am thankful and hope that give me a hint of how to success..

I must however ask how i can give you the file? Since i do not want to attach so everybody can see or dl it. Are this like private conversation?

regards
Peter
