Hi -

I have installed CSVI Pro, have created a template, and gone into Maintenance|Available Fields|Update and everything shows up fine. However when I go to Templates|Template Fields and try either the New or Quick Add buttons, the Field Name box shows nothing!

Also - since I'm asking a question already - once we get this working, is there a way to filter the list of Field Names to choose from so I will only see the Field Names in the Products table? I am attaching login info in a txt file.

Hello,
You may also need to add virtuemart_product_id field to your group by fields. So in that case there will be two group by fields in your template virtuemart_product_id and product_price. This way you wont lose the products with same prices in your export. Try and let me know how it goes.

Hello,
There is one way of getting the prices with duplicate product details in product export. Try adding product_price as group by field in your product export template. Go to your product export template settings, click on fields tab, click select button for Groupby fields, select product_price and save it, dont forget to save your template. Try doing the export after that.

Yes I have the multiple prices set up on the VM product page, it's just getting them all into the CSV.

Hm... perhaps this should be something to consider for the next release.

Sorry to say but there is nothing to consider here. As i already explained the prices are organised to avoid duplicates in product data. There are users who use the export file for doing import. In that case they have to edit/update the duplicate rows before import which don't make sense.

This means I have to do 6 export and will end up with 6 different files... not exactly ideal. It would be nice to have everything in one place

Is it possible to do everything in one place in VirtueMart interface? There are different views for different functionality in all extensions. I do agree adding multiple prices is possible with VirtueMart product page, it is because of the flexibility of handling data using interface than with a CSV file.

Hello,
As i said earlier, basic price data can be retrieved using Product export. If you are looking for exporting multiple price data you have to do it with Price export template. The export has been organised as there is no point in duplicating product details for multiple prices.

if I put in shopper_group_name_price then the value is Guest. Still need to know how to add the prices for the other shopper groups, though...

shopper_group_name is blank, and product_price comes up with 10, which is the Guest price. How do I get the other prices?

Try adding product_price and shopper_group_name fields to your template fields, this should get you the product prices for shopper groups.

OK - and thanks for all your help so far, you've been great - now how to export the prices for each shopper group? I found something called shopper_group_name_price but that just puts in the word Guest. I need one Price column for each of the shopper groups.

Hello,
You need to add price fields to your export template fields so to export price data, Go to template fields page >> Select your product export template >> Add the price fields there. The filter you had selected is for exporting shopper group name price which was looking for Shopper group id to be 0 or Null, you may not be having records with this shopper group id and so it was not exporting anything. This has nothing to do with exporting price fields.

I do need to export price data, however... how would I do that?

The basic price fields for product are available with Product export template you are doing now. You can add them to your template and export. Or if you need to export more price related fields which are not in product export, you can create another template where you select Component as VirtueMart and Operation as Price, add the export fields you need and do a export.

OK now we're getting somewhere. The CSV is formatted correctly and the data is in the correct columns. I do need to export price data, however... how would I do that?

You have set "Shopper group name price" filter on Options tab to All shopper groups in your export template, What if you set it to Don't use and try the export?

Some some reason it's producing two lines for just one product

For duplicates, try adding Group by and Sort by fields to your export template.

Hi - I've just done a test export and the file is completely garbled. Some some reason it's producing two lines for just one product, and the data in columns in many cases does not correspond to the column headers. For example Bar Code is appearing under Age Group, Age Group is appearing under Bullet 6, Short Description is appearing under Bar Code... I could go on and on. Please help!!! I was supposed to deliver this website last Friday and the client is getting very upset.

You need to use text enclosure in your export. Go to your export template settings on File tab give " in text enclosure field, save the template and try the export. That should solve your issue.

They are not appearing in Quick Add

Are these VirtueMart custom fields? If they are added new, you need to Update your available fields so you see them.
