Hi,
I've got a bilingual shop and thus use two import procedures for my product updates (via xml).
Each language has different nodes, in the xml, so I import everything twice. It all works fine (product description, title, etc) apart from the categories. Instead of the second language being entered as a translation of the first, it is imported as a new category.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks!
Dennis

Hello Dennis,
With multi language site we suggest you that you do the category import first and then do the product import. You can use the same XML file in category import by setting the path for category_path field and use only the needed fields for category import. You can have a look at Setting up multi language shop in VirtueMartdocument for category import. If you still have issues, post the debug log of the import along with sample import file to check. To know on how to get the debug log check Where to get the debug information? section on top of this page.

Hi Tharuma,
The primary language is imported correctly.
The translations aren't.
Please find attached both logs (two different templates are used as per the instructions in the link you sent me).
I must be doing something wrong but can't find out what...

Hello Dennis,
You seem to use CSVI 6.6.4 version but you need to update to latest CSVI 7.1.0 version. There was an issue with translation category import and it is fixed in this version. Please post the latest debug log and sample files if you have any issues.
