There is a VirtueMart webshop which loads a feed from a supplier and inserts the new products and modifies the extisting ones, mostly for price/stock info.
The feed contains multiple images for every products.
There are a few situations when the supplier changes the images. It can be new image, modified image or removed image as well. Or maybe only the order of the images.
The feed contains >20.000 product. When we add a new product, RO CSVI downloads the images and stores locally.
What do you suggest, how should we keep the shop up2date with images? Remove the unused images, add the new ones, change the modified ones. A full download for images in every sync seems unneccessary because these situations are quite rare, but we had an issue where the manufacturer changed the box of the product to their new design but we had the old one.
It's also important to keep the existing file names at least for the main image because of the external links.
Any good advice?
