Resolved Auto delete products not in an import update

Hi,

Is there a way to update an existing import with a new import that will automatically delete anything, not in the new import. Basically getting rid of any existing products in the VirtueMart database that are not on a new import.? I am using the latest of Joomla, Virtuemart and CSV Improved.

Hello,
You can do this by setting Skip new items to Yes in your import template on File tab and by using product_delete field with value set to Y in your import file. This way all the new products in your import will be skipped and product_delete field will delete the existing products. If you don't find the Skip new items options on File tab, click on Advanced button on top. Let me know if that helps.

Hello,

automatically delete anything, not in the new import.
CSV Improved cannot do that as it doesn't compare the database against the file you are importing. The one thing you can do is set the option to "Unpublish products before import" to Yes and only publish the products you are importing.

We do have a tutorial on setting up an Auto-delete of discontinued products, this may be of use.

Hi,

Can you also do the mass delete for Manufacturers like you would do with the products utilizing the field product_delete with value Y?

Hello Michael,
You can delete Manufacturers using manufacturer_delete field with value set to Y in VirtueMart Manufacturer import.
