Resolved Article does not get added in the database if articles having same title

Hello All,

I have CSV file in which, I am trying to add the articles from that file using CSVI Import feature. I have created the template & template fields for the same. The file contains 40 records having some article titles same but notes that I don't have alias field for the articles as my CSV file does not contain the alias column for the article.

After importing the records, I have found that some records are not added in the database & found that it ignores the article record if article title is same & alias is not available in my CSV file.

Could you please help me out?

Hello,
You need post your import file and debug log of your import to check. Debug log will tell us what has happened with your import. To get the debug log check How to get debug information? document.

I have checked by debugging the log with the import file, it shows me content updated '40', processed '8' & Added '32'. Please check the attached image for more details about the log. Could you please check it?

The images posted wont help and it is difficult to read the content in them. Please send the import debug log as requested in my previous reply. You can refer to the link in my previous reply to get the debug log.

Hello,
When there is no alias set in import file, CSVI uses title as alias in import. Since you said you have same title for articles and no alias field in your import file, the title has been used as alias in your import. Now for each record CSVI imports, it checks if there is a matching record in database using alias and catid field. Since the titles are same which in turn gets the same alias, CSVI would have found a matching record in database and so the existing record is updated. You need to use alias field in your import file to get all the articles inserted.

If you still have problem please post your import file along with latest debug log to check.
