hi Roland, I would like to know about ROPAYMENTS. I went into your demo and also read your article on how it works and still dont understand how a live example would work.

I have Virtuemart and would like to connect to an Ingenico terminal.

Can you help me understand how it would work?

Hello Belto,

The workings of a payment flow is always a bit tricky :) Let me try and explain how the flow works but first I have a question, when you say Ingenico terminal, do you mean a physical machine? RO Payments only works on websites.

The flow is that the customer selects a product in your VirtueMart shop and goes to the checkout. In the checkout the customer can choose from different payment options. The customer selects a payment option and confirms the order. VirtueMart then creates the order and informs RO Payments of the chosen payment option. RO Payments then redirects the customer to Ingenico where the customer can pay. Once the customer has paid, Ingenico sends a message to RO Payments about the payment status and RO Payments informs VirtueMart. After that Ingenico sends the customer back to the website where the customer will see the result page. You can configure different payment methods in VirtueMart as you may know.

Does that clarify the process more? Let me know if you have any further questions.
Kind regards,

RolandD

ah interesting, hehe I thought it was to connect to physical terminals. What's the added value to digital? I mean is it worth buying this if you already pay for others? I am thinking maybe virtuemart does not have compatibility with others?

Hello,

Apologies for my late reply, it completely went off my radar. There is a big difference between physical terminals and online websites. On a website you cannot pay with a physical terminal because the customer is not in front of you, this must be done with an online payment provider. So they are not mutually exclusive.

I mean is it worth buying this if you already pay for others?
What others are you talking about?

I am thinking maybe virtuemart does not have compatibility with others?
Here I also do not know what you mean by others. Can you explain?
Kind regards,

RolandD

I use STRIPE and looking to add more payment options, but I see that they sell you individually several payment modules in virtuemart store page. This module practically accepts all payments mentioned. what worries me is I want a 1 page payment and this obviously opens another webpage and then goes back right?

Hello Belto,

As you are already using Stripe, I do not think there is any added value for you to use RO Payments because Stripe supports a lot of payment methods already. Are you looking for a payment method Stripe does not support?

but I see that they sell you individually several payment modules in virtuemart store page.
That is a misunderstanding I think because we only sell RO Payments which comes with support for different payment providers on one side and different Joomla extensions on the other side.

what worries me is I want a 1 page payment and this obviously opens another webpage and then goes back right?
Yes, the customer must go to the payment provider to perform the payment. This cannot be done on your own website.
Kind regards,

RolandD
