Hello Roland,

I'm looking to update my subscription. I'm currently using 4.15.0 version in combination with the jTicketing payment plugin (Techjoomla). At the moment this plugin only allows me to set up one payment option for my jTicketing extension.

Is it possible to set up my other payment options as well with the updated plugin?

Looking forward to your reply.

Kind regads,

J.J.J. Werleman

Hello Julien,

Just out curiosity, how would you normally go about it. In terms of expanding your extention (RO Payments) in order for it to integrate with extensions from other developers.
In general we just look at how the payment system of an extension works and build our integration the same way. There really isn't any other way for me because I do not control the flow. RO Payments is just a step in the whole process to handle the payments. The extension has to tell RO Payments how much has to be paid and for which order. That is the bare minimum info. RO Payments also accepts a preset payment method however the extension does have to provide RO Payments with that info. If that info is not provided we assume no choice has been made yet and continue as such.

I mean who would cover which costs in terms of development? And more importantly what can I do to ensure these features will indeed be implemented.
Each developer pays for their own time.

It just don't make no sense if I would have to pay for both extensions plus development costs for a feature that you guys already implemented in previous releases.
RO Payments never had an integration with JTicketing (or any of the other Techjoomla extensions) that allows for passing the payment method. Are you saying we removed such a feature?

I'm looking forward to your reply on how we can hopefully resolve this matter.
There is nothing for us to do until TechJoomla has added that feature.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello Roland,

Thank you for your reply and my apologies for my late response. That's not very nice of them.

Yes, they mentioned they had discussed it with you indeed. However they said that they don't have priority for this implementation because they are in the middle of some major release. At the same time they mentioned that I'm able to pay to prioritize this implementation which basically means that I will have to cover the development costs of improving both extensions (yours and theirs). This is kind of weird as I'm practically a costumer of you both and just looking for an updated version of both extensions.

Here is Techjoomla's reponse:

Hello Julien,

We had a discussion with Roland for this. And we will need some time to plan this as it needs a change that will need considerable testing and right now the team is in the middle of a major release.

We'll try to prioritise this post that release. Note that this will need some time though as the common payments system we use is in all our ecommerce extensions and we would need to do a release for all of them most likely to ensure things dont break for existing customers

If you are willing to support this special development as a sponsored development , do let us know and we can try to accelerate by moving the project to our Projects and Services team.

It's important for me that jTicketing offers more payment options (through RO Payments) for which I have contracts with my bank for. It just don't make no sense if I would have to pay for both extensions plus development costs for a feature that you guys already implemented in previous releases.

I'm looking forward to your reply on how we can hopefully resolve this matter. So that all parties involved are satisfied.

Hello,

All is well thank you, you as well I hop. Techjoomla never came back to me and as a result I forgot all about it again :(

They gave me no more information other than that they will discuss it in the team after I sent them an email explaining how the feature should work.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello Roland,

Hope all is well. Did Techjoomla get back to you already?

I had also opened up a support ticket and they told me that they had talked to you but I still couldn't get a release date for the plugin as yet as they apparently are in the middle of a major release.

Did they give you a time-frame of when they are planning to do this implementation?

Hello,

To be honest, I did forget about this. Must be also because I received no answer from Techjoomla after my last reply and just found out they closed the ticket. So I opened another one asking if they plan to implement this and if so, what timeline would be associated with it.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hello,

The option for multiple payment options has to be implemented by JTicketing. The same way as VirtueMart/HikaShop do it, they allow for adding as many payment options where you can select the plugin. the way JTicketing works is that it only allows for 1 plugin. This would mean that for every payment option you would need a different plugin, combine that with all the different payment providers, this would make a huge list of plugins, that is unmaintable.

What I will do is contact Techjoomla and see if they changed anything to support this. Once I hear back from them, I will let you know.
Kind regards,

RolandD
