Hi,
I just came across your Joomla extension "RO CSVI". I wanted to make sure it works exactly how I am imagining it, before I purchase the extension.

This is what I am looking for. I have a CSV file, that contains information about all my architectural projects, that I have done in the past. Information inside the CSV file are such as the Name of the Project, Client Name, the Area of the Project, Project Cost, Architect Name, Project Manager, and etc. Each project is in one row and the columns contains the different information.

My questions are:
1- Is it possible to use your extension to upload these information from the CSV file and publish them inside my own template? (attached)
2- Would your extension create individual articles with each line inside the uploaded CSV file?
3- My template has tabs. Is it possible to populate those data inside the tabs as well?

Please see attached image that shows the template that I have created.

I really appreciate your help.

Best,
Amir

Hello Amir,

Yes, RO CSVI can read the data from CSV file but can you tell us which extension you use to store your project details?

2- Would your extension create individual articles with each line inside the uploaded CSV file?

With articles do you mean Joomla articles? RO CSVI can read each line in CSV file and create individual record in database.

3- My template has tabs. Is it possible to populate those data inside the tabs as well?

We need more details on your template to see if this possible. We also need to know how you have created this template or for which extension you have this template made for.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Tharuna,
Thank you for getting back to me.

In our office, we have a system that called Vision, where we store all information about all our projects. Vision is good in storing data, but very bad in populating them in nice and easy to read pages. The idea is to export the data as CSV file, link it to our Joomla site, where I created a template for them, that all employees can access those information easy when they are looking for an example for estimating a project cost.

With articles do you mean Joomla articles? RO CSVI can read each line in CSV file and create individual record in database.

Yes, I mean Joomla articles. We have a Joomla base website for our office.

We need more details on your template to see if this possible. We also need to know how you have created this template or for which extension you have this template made for.

I created a test folder for this template. Please see link below. If I need to do some changes in the template to make sure your extension works, I am open to do that. I used YooTheme Pro for my Joomla site. it is a Joomla website maker.

Hello Amir,
Thank you for the link. Does this template get the values from Joomla article? If yes, RO CSVI can import CSV data into Joomla articles. But RO CSVI is not responsible on how the values are shown on your template. If the template uses the values stored in Joomla article table then once the import is done, template will automatically read the data from database and show it as in your link.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Tharuna,
Does this template get the values from Joomla article?

Maybe my comment about the template was confusing. The page you see is practically one Joomla article, that I created in Joomla. Does this answer your question?
Is there a way I could test it?

Best Regards

Dear Tharuna,
I have been reading the documentations for the extension on your website. There is a section about "create a template". Is this something that can be used to create a template similar to what I have created?

Thanks

Yes the template was confusing indeed. RO CSVI can import Joomla articles. You can test your import on our demo site here https://demo.rolandd.com/administrator/.
Look for template "Example Joomla Content Import " on RO CSVI >> Templates page and run the import using your CSV file.

The template here means RO CSVI template which can be used for running import. RO CSVI is a tool to import data from your CSV file to database table of extensions. It does not work with frontend templates.
Kind regards,

Tharuna
