Hi there - we had a huge website with several thousand K2 articles. We recently moved website and took that website down, so it's only available on FTP (and as downloaded files on our Dropbox). Is there any way we can use your products to export the K2 items from that format to CSV? Or do we have to reinstall Joomla and do it via the main admin platform?

Thanks a lot.

Using RO CSVI you cannot convert a file type to CSV format but if you have those articles in database using our component in Joomla you can export them in CSV format directly from database.

Or do we have to reinstall Joomla and do it via the main admin platform?

Yes you need to install Joomla and with RO CSVI component interface you can create export templates for K2 extension and export the K2 items in CSV format. You can check the demo of the export on our demo site.
Kind regards,

Hello,

Do you mean you have the articles as plain text files on the server? If you still have the data in the database you can use your current Joomla installation to export the data. For that you change the database credentials in the configuration.php file with the old database credentials. If you run the export templates via CLI, the export files should be generated.

This is provided you have setup your K2 export templates already. If not, you are going to need a Joomla installation with K2 to create the templates otherwise you won't have the fields available needed for making the templates.
Kind regards,
