Its been a while since I've used CSVi, but now have a request from a client, which CSVi (I think) should be able to help me with :D

I have an older J3.10 site using an older extension for advertising car sales - AutoStand
We have a hard-coded live XML export, which you can see here - https://www.classiccarshop.co.uk/home/cars?controller=cars&format=xml&layout=trader_cars

However, now have a need for a more bespoke XML export (see attachment).
Can CSVi, help me create an XML URL/export, given that there won't be any CSVi templates for this, I'd need to create a custom template I guess.

Hello Andy,

You are correct that you need to build your own template. The only option available is the RO CSVI Custom Table export. This allows you to export data from unsupported tables. You will have to construct the query yourself as shown in the attached image.

If that it is possible to build your query like that, you should be good to go because you can set the export format to XML and in the XML tab define your own XML layout. This is separated in header, body and footer. Where the body is exported for each record.

You can check it out on our demo site Just create a new template of the Custom Table type and play with it.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks, Roland, Hope your are well. Still, running?

Will using the custom table export method be able to see all data fields within the 3rd party component > AutoStand?

My requirement has moved on a little from my original ticket, and we will be creating a CSV instead of XML, which will need to be sent via SFTP daily.

Hello Andy,

Roland is doing good. He is busy with fitness and running :)

Yes, in export template on Options tab you can connect the tables of AutoStand component using primary and foreign key fields using Advanced custom table export and export the needed fields.

My requirement has moved on a little from my original ticket, and we will be creating a CSV instead of XML, which will need to be sent via SFTP daily.

In export template on Source tab use Save on FTP server option to save the export file on SFTP. You can set export as cron job so it becomes daily automated process.
