Step by step guide to build virtuemart from scratch with csvi #64878

Instead of doing individual imports you can merge all of these into one import and import it using VirtueMart Product import. You need product_sku field in import file as it is the required field in VirtueMart Product import. I have explained the field to be used in product import.

• Import Virtuemart products (without images)
  On this stage the folder tree of the categories will be formed autom.

Correct, RO CSVI will create categories automatically.

• Import VM categories

use category_path field

• Import VM manufacturers

use manufacturer_name field

• Import VM product custom fields

Please check product import with custom fields document.

• Import VM product prices

If the product has single price, you can use product_price field in product import. If the product has multiple prices then use VirtueMart Price import operation.

• Import VM product media

Use file_url and file_url_thumb fields. You can also check Import product with VirtueMart images document.

• Import VM product availability

Use product_in_stock field.

There is something i missed to write in my previous reply. With VirtueMart Product import you can import category_path and manufacturer_name but for importing the details information for a category or manufacturer you need to use VirtueMart categories import and VirtueMart manufacturer import. So in this case the steps would be

1. Import VM categories
2. Import VM manufacturers
3. Import VirtueMart products with category_path and manufacturer_name so the product is linked. You can also use other fields in this import as explained in my previous reply.
