In case an error shows up or even a white page when returning to the website, it is possible that the payment plugins are not setup correctly.
Payment plugins are managed in 2 places:
- VirtueMart -> Payment methods
- Joomla -> Plugins
It is important that if a payment method is disabled in VirtueMart, it must also be disabled in the Joomla Plugins. That is because they operate independently.
Turn off Joomla Plugin
To turn off a plugin take the following steps:
- Go to Extensions -> Plugins
- Filter on type vmpayment
- Select all the unused payment methods
- Click on Unpublish
- All unused payment plugins are now unpublished.
