I can not order the templates (list) on Joomla 4. Dragging them to a different position works, but this is not saved. On page refresh or returning to the list, the order is back to what is was before.

This sounds like you have something interfering with the AJAX call in the background. Please check the Developer Tools in the browser to see if there is any error.
As far as I have tested this, I see no issues with the functionality.

Hi! I don;t see any errors in the console. It does look like the ordering is OK, but reloading the page or switching to another page an coming back does not show the changed ordering. It's like it is not save.

Can you post a screenshot of the Response tab of the saveOrder request? We should check what it says there as that request is the one failing if nothing is saved. You won't see any errors in the console because it is not a JavaScript error.
Post the screenshot and we can also check what is in there and perhaps that will tell us what is going on.

The screenshot is no longer necessary. After some more testing I was able to reproduce the issue as well. You can load the attached patch file and the ordering should be working as expected.
