Hi there,

the same website is having the exact same problem again:
https://rolandd.com/support/ro-csvi/preview-successful-but-import-will-cause-404-error

While it is good for a few months, we are now having the same issues again, and we have added that administrator/components/com_csvi/rantai/rantai.php to the allow direct access exception for the .htaccess.

The server support replied:
I've reviewed the relevant logs on our end, but unfortunately, I couldn't find any specific logs that provide more details about the reported 500 error.

In the access logs, the error appears as follows:

Hello,
While it is good for a few months, we are now having the same issues again, and we have added that administrator/components/com_csvi/rantai/rantai.php to the allow direct access exception for the .htaccess.

So something has changed recently causing 500 error again. May be this time it is not access to rantai.php file causing the error. We have 500 internal server error document explaining on causes of the error. See if the document helps and you should also be looking at what has recently changed.

I've reviewed the relevant logs on our end, but unfortunately, I couldn't find any specific logs that provide more details about the reported 500 error.

In the access logs, the error appears as follows:

Access log will not give any details on the error. You should check server error logs and see if there are any information on 500 error.

OK we have got the reply from server support and I have also attached that log file for you to review. Only this website has this issue, not the others. Could you please kindly review it and fix?

The error is logged in this file:

~/www/fredmoy.ca/public_html/administrator/components/com_csvi/rantai/php_errorlog

Please send it to the authors of the problematic software. They should provide an update or fix. If they suggest any server-side changes with which you need assistance, we will be happy to consider them as long as they specify exactly what they require and as long as the hosting environment allows it. Just in case, I tried it with the various other PHP versions but the error remains the same.

Please also keep in mind that we are not professional developers ourselves and that coding and configuration issues are beyond the scope of our support. As your host, our main goal is to ensure that the services we provide are working.

Thank you. The RO CSVI is: 8.19.1 and Joomla is 5.3.2.

Only this website has this issue, other websites on the same hosting server don't have this issue. Strange.

After installing the latest version, no it didn't resolve the issue and this time it returns:

Updating to latest RO CSVI 8.21.0 version has solved 500 Fatal error error. The error you get now is new one and is not related to old error.

An error has occurred during the import. Below the information received from the server.

Joomla\Filesystem\File::delete: Failed deleting googlesheet

for Google sheet import.

I was able to reproduce this error with Google sheets import. The error is fixed with attached patch file. Load the attached file and run import again and check.

We do not know why that happens. Sometimes Joomla itself does not find updates with extensions.

Thank you! Loading the patch file fixed the issue and we are able to import again!

I am just cuirous about the cause of the problem. This website was working fine with other websites, it has the same setting and is loading the same spreadsheet. Why it will has the 500 error and the new error? Did I do something wrong for the setup or configuration?

Also, why it cannot receive the update from your website, so that it is using an older software? I saw that the component is not disabled for update.

Thank you for confirming patch is working. This fix will be included with upcoming RO CSVI release.

You did nothing wrong :D 500 error is related to a file we include in Google library in RO CSVI. I asked to update RO CSVI to latest version so that with installation Google library files are correct and that fixed 500 error. The second error is due to changes which came in with last RO CSVI release and that was fixed with patch file.

This is a problem with Joomla itself and not related to RO CSVI version. Sometimes Joomla does not find update for extensions which we don't know why.

This is a mystery that sometimes happen, not only with extensions even with Joomla core updates it happens they do not appear. There is something going on during the checking process where Joomla either decides that there is no update, no need to check for an update or the versions do not match. It could be anything, you would have to debug it on the site itself to find the real reason. Usually it is enough to clear the cache and then try again.

As you said, it doesn't happen on all sites, it is more often that it doesn't happen than that it does happen.
