Hi Roland

Hope you are well

In the middle of migrating a site from Joomla 2.5.28, VM 2.0.22c, csvi 5.17 to Joomla 3.4.1, VM 3.0.9, csvi 5.21.1

Have brought across all Joomla users using csvi user export and import which was great, but having difficulties bringing over order history and orders.

The order export and order import templates have been successfully created on csvi, and on order import i get a success result (debug log attached), but when i check the virtuemart orders screen it is empty as is the virtuemart_orders database table.

Could you lend any advice why this import is showing as successful but not updating database table?

Kind regards

Tim

Hello Tim,

It is showing as updated because you have the virtuemart_order_id in your import file and this causes CSVI to do an update, regardless if the ID exists or not.

You can check these tutorials:
http://www.csvimproved.com/en/search?q=order+import

see if this helps you.

Do know, CSVI is not a migration tool. You can do a lot but it won't transfer all data from an old VirtueMart installation to a new one.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
Kind regards,

RolandD

thanks Roland, have managed to use csvi to bring a lot of info across, but the one field i cant seem to successfully import is the virtuemart_order_id

If i leave this out the database table sequentially creates an entry, but if i put it in the whole import fails (even though the log shows sucessfull)

Any thoughts as i guess i am going to need this to bring orders and order details together?

Kind regards

Tim

Hello Tim,

The only way to bring over the same order IDs is to first create them in the database, for example by importing them via PhpMyAdmin. After that the order IDs exist and you can use the ID in the import so CSVI will update those records. The other option is to use CSVI 6 which has an option on the order import to keep the existing order ID.
Kind regards,

RolandD
