Hi Rolando.
I have a problem to use plugin CSVI Field Copy.
I want to make an import of VM products. I want that product_name is copied from product_sku (product_sku = Article)
Product_name not copied and error: "Error COM_CSVI_CANNOT_FIND_PRODUCT_NAME "

Thank you.
Davide

Hello,
Please load the attached patch file and try the import again. One thing i noticed from your screenshot is that you have set the Your field for product_name to be product_sku, you can remove that as Your field represents the field from your import file and there is no such field name as product_sku in your file.

Hello Davide,

I am sorry to say but I don't think this is going in the right direction. You need to use the orignal fieldcopy plugin but in your template you should not put the Your field value. This field is used for XML only and not CSV files.

So if you empty the Your field value for the product_name, I believe it should work without any patching. To get the old fieldcopy plugin back, you can simply install CSVI again without uninstalling the current version.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Hi Rolandd,
I install CSVI 6.5.7 again without uninstalling the current version.
I empty the "Your field value" for the "product_name"
The import not copy the value from product_sku to product_name (log Error COM_CSVI_CANNOT_FIND_PRODUCT_NAME )
Where am I wrong?

Thank you
Davide

Hello Davide,
My apologises to guide you wrong before. The confusion came in with the field you had set the rule with. It has to be on product_sku field(which is the source field) and not on product_name. Please have a look at the field copy plugin documentation. Try changing it and see if it works.
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hi Roland and Tharuna,
I have re-defined the rule and the template. Everything works properly.

I have two questions:
- The csv file contains various brands. I can define a filter to import only some brands?
- I use the same CSV file of products also import categories. I can import the first image of the product in a category and use only one picture for the category, avoiding to associate multiple images to the same category?

I apologize for my bad English.

Hello Davide,

There is no filter in CSVI to import specific brands. You have to have them organised in your import file.

- I use the same CSV file of products also import categories. I can import the first image of the product in a category and use only one picture for the category, avoiding to associate multiple images to the same category?

This is again something you need to handle in your CSV file. If you want only one image, file_url field has to have that image. There is no option in import to say to import only the first image from the import file.

I apologize for my bad English.

Good enough for us to understand what you wanted to ask :)
Kind regards,

Tharuna

Hello Davide,

One question, where are the other images coming from? Are they all in your import file? If yes, how are they stored in your import file?
Kind regards,

RolandD
