I am trying to get the GoogleBase export working.

This template was ported from my old installation where it worked.
Current site is CSVI 6.4.2 VM 3.0.12 and J! 3.4.5

I start the export and it runs for a while. Then it stops and says that no response has been received and that I can cancel it. I left it (in case it really was still running) for 30 minutes, and then canceled it.

Hello,
The patch has solved an issue which can be seen from the logs. But the issue seems to be because of something else.
Can you set the limit in the template to 10 products and see if the export works and if it does, increase the number of products to see where it breaks the export?
Also, check for the any 500 internal server error using firebug console and let me know on what you see there.
Can you also send a copy of your export template so i can test here?

Hi,

I tried limiting the number of records for the template. In the template in the File tab, I set the records from 0 to 10. It still did not complete (The "last response from server" counted to 300 and then I goat an error. )

So then I restricted the manufacturers to export. The attached log file (com_csvi.log.39.zip) shows when I added enough manufacturers to break the export. The log file com_csvi.log.38.zip shows the successful export; The difference being one manufacturer (Blonder-Tongue).

The template in csvi_templates_20151231.xml is the broken template.

Can you check if Database type is set to mysqli instead of mysql in the global configuration of Joomla? If no, can you set it to mysqli and try the export?

The database was set to MySQLi.

I set it to MySQL, then set it back to MySQLi. I tried it again. Same result.


Perhaps I can send you a UserName and password to you so that you can test on my server.

Hello Shimon,

Tharuna and I have looked at your site and we found that the server is killing the export. If we for example export 50 products by setting the limit to start at product 1 and stop at product 50 all is fine. Tharuna filtered on manufacturer and over 500 products were exported. So I ran the full export and like you I see that it doesn't produce a file. What I did see however is that on every export the process stopped at a different place.

This means that the server is killing the process and so there is never any response received by CSVI and it waits indefinitely. Now, cPanel has an error log page but it is empty, so you will need to ask your hosting company to check the error log to see why the process is being killed. Once we know that error, we will know what to do next. Perhaps it is just a matter of increasing the limits.

By the way, even on the cPanel I get an Internal Server Error trying to go to the main page of cPanel.

As a final note, your database has many more products than that are shown in VirtueMart, you may want to consider a clean-up.

I spoke with my server support. They found a php.ini with a limit of 300 sec. This explains why the process was stopping at 300 sec. I had the limit set to zero, so that the server will never kill the process for running too long.

I then ran the Google XML export.

It has been running for 3600 seconds so far. I do not remember an export taking an hour!
The setting are to save it on the server, so it is not communications time. This server has SSD disks, so it should be fast.

At some point I will kill the export.
How do we proceed from here?

Hello Shimon,

It wasn't 300 seconds after which the process was stopped from what I saw but after 30 seconds. What I have done now, in your export template set the Override system limits to Yes and left the values that were put in there before and the export finishes as expected now. This creates an export file of about 24 MBs.

Just one small problem. How do I get the XML to include the <title> <link> and <description> for the Google export.

I have the information filled in, in the Dashboard/Settings/Googlebase tab.
I have the export set in the template in File/Website set to Google.

What am I missing?
