Today I'm struggling with parent and child products. I have created a special field for the child products(generic child variant) named "uitvoering". When I import the csv all I see is "select an option" and I cant't select anything. When I take a look at the special field tab in the product page in virtuemart it looks OK. When I remove the special field(uitvoering) in the product page and select it manually it works like it should work. When I overwrite it with the CSV it's back to the old situation.

I have been investigating your issue and found that your file bwtest.csv is missing the field custom_value and this field needs the value product_name. In addition you may want to change the custom_param field to read withParent="1"|parentOrderable="0"|wPrice=0| so all the options are present. These changes only apply to the parent products, they are not needed for the child products.
Give that a try and let me know how it goes.
