Using CSVI Pro 6.3.0 and trying to import this file of products. Have set and saved a template with the fields as per file. When trying to run the import, nothing imports and the log says, for each line that it is missing required fields. I believe I have all the appropriate fields for the template in my file, so not sure what I'm doing wrong. Have been using CSVI for a number of years but have only just started using this version so perhaps I'm missing something simple. Thanks very much.

Hello,

You missed point 4 on the Troubleshooting import errors list.

The import file needs to be UTF-8. Update the file that way and you should be good to go.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Thank you for the quick reply and for the information on UTF-8. Is this something new? I have always used Excel and have never had an issue. I downloaded Notepad 2 and saved the file with the correct encoding (I have opened it in Notepad 2 and it tells me that it is UTF-8) and still the same issue exits. I get exactly the same error that I got last time and nothing is imported at all. I used the CSV analyzer and it looks ok, I don't see any unreadable characters. I have attached the UTF-8 version of the import file and the log. Thanks very much.

Hello,

Is this something new?
Not new, been like that since Joomla 1.5. I guess it has never been an issue for you because you don't use extended characters. That would explain why it always worked for you.

Please try this, go to Templates -> Template fields and select all fields and click on the Publish button. You won't see any difference but it will set the published state on the template fields.

It must be something very simple but I am not seeing it yet ;) All looks good to me. Everything looks good on the About page as well?

What do you see on the import result screen?
Kind regards,

RolandD

Thanks so much for the reply. I have done as you have suggested and unfortunately it has made no difference. I have checked the about and there are no issues. At the end of the import it simply says that all 213 lines have been skipped. For each line it says it has been skipped and the message is missing required fields. I'm not missing any fields in my file am I? I can't see any that appear to be missing. Thank you.

Can you sent me a private message with Joomla and FTP login details? I will take a look to see what is going on. Let me know if I can use the file you posted earlier as test file to run the import. Thanks.
Kind regards,

RolandD

Thanks for the reply. Have sent you PM with details. You can use that file as that is the one I am actually trying to import. Thanks.

The csvi_availablefields table seems to be outdated, this needs to be deleted and CSVI installed again to recreate the table.
Kind regards,

Just to say I had the same problem after updating to 6.4.2 -- deleting csvi_availablefields and re-installing wasn't enough
Had to uninstall, delete table and re-install .. all working now
